Hast Du den Affen vermisst? Er Dich auch. Aber manchmal ist die Arbeit auf den Bananenplantage so fordernd, dass daneben kaum was anderes möglich ist. Der Affe hat aber immer an Dich gedacht und deshalb gibt es jetzt auch wieder regelmäßig frische Ware.

Darauf ein dreifaches „Uuuh-Uuuh-Aaah!“ …

Who would have thought it, once again it didn't work out right away. The "Wheel of Scorpion" - the wide tyire extension for the "Silent Scorpion" - failed at the first hurdle and had to go back to the drawing board. But that's exactly what (various) test laps are for.

But it also shows quite clearly that even small "inventions" have their pitfalls and product development is anything but a walk in the park. Against this background, it is all the more regrettable when good and elaborate product developments are ruined before they have seen the light of day (greetings go out to J&G 2% Vespa Tuning and Blechgefährten).

Before you talk something down, just try to imagine how much work, time and money was put into an idea. And it doesn't matter if it was the guy around the corner or the big store that made the effort.

And now lets test the new "Wheel of Scorpion" 😁

Wer hätte das gedacht, es hat mal wieder nicht auf Anhieb geklappt. Das „Wheel of Scorpion“ - die Breitreifen-Ergänzung für den „Silent Scorpion“ - ist an der ersten Hürde gescheitert und musste zurück auf den Zeichentisch. Aber genau dafür macht man ja (diverse) Testrunden.

Es zeigt aber auch wieder ganz deutlich, dass selbst kleine „Erfindungen“ ihre Tücken haben und Produktentwicklung alles andere als ein Spaziergang ist. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist es umso bedauerlicher, wenn gute und aufwändige Produktentwicklungen kaputt geredet werden, bevor sie das Licht der Öffentlichkeit erblickt haben (Grüße gehen raus an J&G 2% Vespa Tuning und Blechgefährten).

Bevor ihr etwas kaputt redet, versucht euch einfach vorzustellen, wie viel Arbeit, Zeit und Geld in eine Idee gesteckt wurde. Und dabei spielt es keine Rolle, ob es der kleine Otto oder der große Shop war, der sich die Mühe gemacht hat.

So, und nun wird das neue „Wheel of Scorpion“ getestet 😁

An idea yesterday, a prototype today. The complement to the "Silent Scorpion", the "Wheel of Scorpion", has just come off the lathe and is on its way to the Monkey. Now we can move on to final testing.

If everything fits - which is to be expected - the "Wheel of Scorpion" will be available in the future with matching shims for wide tyre conversions in 10, 15 and 18mm (for 3 to 4.1 inches). The contact surface with the engine case is rubber-mounted (not shown in the picture), so that the vibration absorption of the silent rubbers is not adversely affected. The "Wheel of Scorpion" is manufactured from robust, stainless tool steel.

Expected to be available in April. Prices to be announced. Test results will be published here and elsewhere.

Gestern noch eine Idee, heute schon ein Prototyp. Die Ergänzung zum „Silent Scorpion“, das „Wheel of Scorpion“, ist ganz frisch von der Drehbank gefallen und befindet sich auf dem Weg zum Affen. Damit steht den abschließenden Tests nichts mehr im Wege.

Wenn alles passt - wovon man ausgehen darf - gibt es zukünftig mit dem „Wheel of Scorpion“ die passenden Ausgleichsplatten für Breitreifenumbauten in den Maßen 10, 15 und 18mm (für 3 bis 4,1 Zoll). Die Kontaktfläche zur Traverse am Motorgehäuse wird Gummi gelagert (auf dem Bild nicht zu sehen), damit die Schwingungsaufnahme der Silent-Gummis nicht negativ beeinflusst wird. Gefertigt wird das „Wheel of Scorpion“ aus robustem und nicht rostendem Werkzeugstahl.

Verfügbar voraussichtlich im April. Preise werden noch bekannt gegeben. Die Testergebnisse werden unter anderem hier veröffentlicht.
