🧠 Conversations With My Child Episode 2

This week, my son taught me something I wasn't expecting.

After reading something I wrote, he stopped halfway and said:

Mummy, I like reading short notes. Long messages make me bored. 😅

At first, I wanted to encourage him to finish.

But then I paused and asked myself...

Am I trying to make him read more... or helping him develop a love for reading?

I realized something important:

Children don't build reading confidence overnight.

Just like we don't expect a child to run a marathon without training, we shouldn't expect them to enjoy long passages before they've built the stamina to read them.

So instead of forcing longer reading, we're going to start small:

📖 Short stories.
💬 Meaningful conversations.
🌱 A little progress every day.

Because the goal isn't just to raise children who can read.

It's to raise children who want to read.

BE HONEST… WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN THE DAY DOESN’T GO ACCORDING TO PLAN? 😅

You wake up with a schedule.

Work to finish.
Emails to answer.
Meetings to attend.
Content to create.

Then you remember…

The kids are on holiday. 😂

Suddenly, the schedule you carefully planned doesn't look anything like your actual day.

Instead of working, you're making breakfast.

Instead of answering emails, you're taking the kids out.

Instead of finishing that important task, you're hearing:

Mum, can we do this?

And before you know it…

It's evening. 😩

Does this happen to you too?

When your day completely goes off schedule because your children need your attention,

What do you normally do?

A. Push everything into the evening
B. Feel guilty because work didn't get done
C. Try to do both and end up exhausted
D. Accept that family comes first and reschedule everything

There is no wrong answer.

Because sometimes the problem isn't that we don't know how to manage our time.

Sometimes, the bigger question is whether the way we work actually gives us enough flexibility for real life.

And that's something I'm exploring through VA IMPACT.

Because I don't believe parents should have to choose between being present for their children and building something meaningful for their future.

🎤 CONVERSATIONS WITH MY CHILD.....EPISODE 1

My son asked me something that made me stop and think… 🤔

Mummy, who invented homework, and why do we have to do it? 😂

Then he asked:

If there was no homework, would people still be clever and remember what they learned?

And I thought… 🤔That's actually a very good question!

So I asked him:

If you were in charge of education, what would you do instead?

His answer?

I would remove homework and replace it with sports!” ⚽😂

Then he went even further…

Children should choose the subjects they're interested in and work on them.

Now I'm curious…
