In the past three months, we have introduced you to employees who started with us as Working Students and are now working permanently at . Today we have another success story that shows why it makes perfect sense to join us already during your studies.
Jessica Hans was a Working Student in the legal department from 2017 to 2019 and was hired as a Junior Counsel after her graduation in 2019. She is now a Legal Counsel and assists us with all legal issues, contracts, data protection, and much more.
How long did you work as a student before starting as an employee at LOVOO?
"Luckily, I spotted the position almost at the same time as I started my master's degree, so I was able to put my theoretical knowledge to immediate use as a Working Student for a total of 1.5 years."
Why did you want to stay at LOVOO after graduation?
"During my time as a Working Student, I realized that my studies in business law perfectly match with the position of an Inhouse Legal Counsel. I had already taken responsibility for some topics and really liked the trust that was put in me as well as the tasks to be worked on. When I received an offer for a full-time position, I didn't have to think twice - also because of the great culture and all my wonderful colleagues I work with every day."
How would you explain your job to your grandmother?
"Imagine you want to make the dating section of a newspaper more lively and open a café with speed-dating evenings. For your business to be successful, you have to make contracts with suppliers, satisfy your customers plus your café should be a safe place. This involves many legal obligations that you have to observe and implement. And in order to avoid disputes in court, there is me, who tries to prevent such disputes in the best possible way (and by the way, I also have an indirect part in helping people to get to know each other, find friendships and/or fall in love)."
