Semana passada teve a IAA, maior salão de automóveis do mundo em Frankfurt. Como diz o slogan deles: você pode tocar no futuro da mobilidade. Fiz um test drive com o Sion, carro solar, fantástico! Da Sono Motors, empresa alemã onde os donos tem todos menos de 30 anos. Simpática equipe e muito comprometidos com o meio ambiente.

Last week was the IAA, the world's largest auto Show in Frankfurt. As their slogan says: you can touch on the future of mobility. I did a test drive with Sion, a solar car, fantastic! From Sono Motors German company where the founders are all less than 30 years old. Friendly staff and very committed to the environment.

Leitura de domingo! Triste ler sobre formação de cartel na Alemanha e principlamente descaso com o meio-ambiente, daqueles produtos que fazem parte de uma bela história de sucesso econômico e dedicação de fundadores apaixonados pela mobilidade. A maioria deles são meus clientes há mais de 20 anos. Desapontamento e frustração é o meu sentimento!
Porém em toda crise há chances. Chance de apaixonados engenheiros também alemães de agora ter a atenção do mercado, para seus carros:
1. Sono Motors, com o carro Sion, onde o slogan é „movido a sol“ e os fundadores todos com menos de 30 anos de idade ou
2. e-GO Mobile AG com o carro elétrico e-GO, empresa nascida na universidade RWTH Aachen e desenvolvida pelo Prof. Dr. Schuh e seus estudantes.
O preço? Acessível por volta de 15 mil €. Um desses será meu novo carro.

Sunday reading! Sad to read about the formation of cartel in Germany and mainly the disregard with the environment of those products that are part of a beautiful history of economic success and dedication of passionate mobility founders. Most of them have been my clients for over 20 years. Disappointment and frustration is my feeling!
But in every crisis there are chances. Chance for other passionate German engineers, to have now the market attention for their cars:
1. Sono Motors, with the car Sion, where the slogan is "driven by the sun" and the founders all under 30 years of age or
2. e-GO Mobile AG with the e-GO electric car, company born at RWTH Aachen University and developed by Prof. Dr. Schuh and his students.
The price? Affordable for around € 15,000. One of these will be my future car.

Inglaterra-Universidade de Warwick. 90% do meu trabalho é consultoria e 10% dou aula, minha paixão. Muito feliz de ter trabalhado em uma das melhores universidades do mundo, com direito a visita na Land Rover/Jaguar :-). Semana intensa, que valeu a pena!

Trabalhando esta semana em Rastatt, na fronteira da França. Estando aqui me fez pensar na fase turbulenta da Europa agora. Hoje Escócia decidiu, re-votar para decidirem finalmente se ficam na Grã-Bretanha ou na Comunidade Européia…. Na foto no outra lado do rio Reno, é a França e bem aqui houve muitas guerras, hoje a fronteira é livre e tem paz. Numa foto a amizade França Alemanha pintada por um artista local a a ponte com o nome da celebridade, traduzido em 2 línguas. Esses são detalhes da beleza da CE, o esforço de construir uma região juntos. Sou pela Comunidade Européia, pois sozinhos vamos mais rápidos, mas juntos vamos mais longe!
And this week working in Rastatt, on the border of France. Being here made me think about the turbulent times in Europe now. Today Scotland decided to re-vote for staying at Great Britain or EU…
On the other side of the Rhine river, in the picture, is France and for years there have been war here, today the borber is free and there is peace. A picture of friendship between the 2 countries, made by a local artist and the celebrity name of a brigde, translated in french and german. These are details of the beauty of EU, the effort of building a region together. I am for EU, then alone we go faster but together we go further!

Working in Trier this week. Great UNESCO city, which decided today, after a long discussion, to accept a 6m high Karl Marx statue, a present from China. Karl Marx was born here 1818.

Linda cidade da UNESCO, que decidiu hoje, depois de muita discussão, a aceitar de o presente da China, um estátua de 6 m de Karl Marx. Karl Marx nasceu aqui em 1818.

There is a very interesting organization I work for. They are linked to the German government and give support to international projects on sustantability and development around the world and is the only organization, which have free entrance in the Amazon Forest. Some weeks ago, we had a conference there. It was great, there were consultants from all over the world. Among others issues, it was presented the UNO agenda 2030 for development ands sustaintability, it was great to know, that my work contributes to this agenda. Next year we will be moving to the new building, which is completely built on sustainable basis.

Existe uma organização muito interessante para a qual trabalho. Eles estão ligados ao governo alemão e dão apoio a projetos internacionais de sustentabilidade e desenvolvimento em todo o mundo e é a única organização que tem entrada livre na Floresta Amazônica. Algumas semanas atrás, tivemos uma conferência lá. Foi ótimo, havia consultores de todo o mundo. Entre outras questões, foi apresentada a agenda 2030 da ONU para o desenvolvimento e a sustentabilidade, foi ótimo saber que meu trabalho contribui para essa agenda. No próximo ano estaremos mudando para o novo edifício, que é completamente construído em base sustentável.
