Bei einem italienischen Aperitivo bot sich die Gelegenheit, Ideen auszutauschen und über zukünftige Kooperationsmöglichkeiten im deutsch-italienischen Kontext ins Gespräch zu kommen.

The international student teams transformed sustainable ideas into innovative business projects through collaboration, mentoring and creativity ♻️✨

From team-building activities to the development of real green business concepts, participants explored the future of sustainable entrepreneurship while working inside an international learning environment.

🇮🇹 In June 2026, Italy will host the International Contest, where teams will pitch their projects to an international jury and compete for a place among the Top 3 most impactful ideas.

🚀 The 𝙂𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣-𝙄𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝘼𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙪𝙢 2026 was a success – thanks to you!

Last year, we broke the ice. This year, we discovered just how much momentum, talent and willingness to collaborate already existed across the German-Italian aerospace community.

Over the past two days, GIAF2026 brought together:

🔹 300 participants across two days
🔹 Countless conversations and new connections

From 𝙀𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙖𝙣 𝙡𝙖𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙘𝙤𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 to 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙀𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙗𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, our discussions highlighted the strategic importance of aerospace, the need to strengthen 𝙀𝙪𝙧𝙤𝙥𝙚'𝙨 𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙪𝙨 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚, and the great potential that emerges when industry, institutions and innovators come together to turn ambition into concrete projects.

🚀 First time at the ILA Berlin Air Show for the 𝙂𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙣-𝙄𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝘼𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙨𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙪𝙢!

The second day of took place on the SPACE4Future Stage in the Space Pavilion, bringing our discussions directly into the heart of one of Europe's leading aerospace events.

The session was opened by a keynote address from ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher and continued with a high-level panel discussion on the role of Resilient Earth Observation in supporting secure connectivity and Europe's strategic autonomy.

Together with our speakers, we explored what is needed to strengthen European cooperation in this field and ensure that Europe remains a key player in driving the future of space rather than, as moderator Anilkumar Dave aptly put it, "ending up on the menu."

A sincere thank you to our co-organiser BDLI - Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie and host of ILA Berlin - Pioneering Aerospace, as well as to the - Italian Trade Agency - Berlin and to all our partners for their support.

What an evening! 🚀

Outstanding speakers, key players from industry and institutions, pioneering startups and distinguished guests. This was the German-Italian Aerospace Forum 2026!

The event opened with welcome remarks from Ambassador Bucci, ITA Director Ferdinando Fiore, and ITKAM Secretary General Eliomaria Narducci, followed by a keynote speech by ESA astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti, introduced by ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher.
The programme featured engaging discussion on European launcher cooperation and a startup showcase by the Galaxia accelerator, moderated by our Space Economy and Open Innovation Advisor Anilkumar Dave.

A heartfelt thank you to our co-organisers, BDLI and ITA – Italian Trade Agency, to the Italian Embassy in Berlin for its patronage, and to all our speakers, partners, and guests for making this such a remarkable event.
