Scientists at Tel Aviv University (TAU) have printed the world’s first 3D vascularized engineered heart using a patient’s own cells and biological materials - this is the first time anyone anywhere has successfully engineered and printed an entire heart.😮

These results demonstrate the potential of the approach for engineering personalized tissues and organs, or for drug screening in an appropriate anatomical structure and patient‐specific biochemical microenvironment.🤩

Extraction of biomolecules like DNA & RNA, is the most crucial step in molecular biology. It is the starting point for a plethora of different downstream applications. Nucleic acids can be isolated from any biological source (tissues, cells, virus particles, body fluids, soil, plants…), however in all cases it is of immense importance that DNA & RNA is obtained in sufficient quality and purity for the downstream process. 🦠
Be aware that an effective lysis of your sample in the first step is most crucial in order to obtain best possible yields! 👩🏻‍🔬
Make sure to find the appropriate lysis method for your particular sample type! ✌🏻🤓
