BF-Engineering GmbH was founded 2010 as a subsidiary of BF Maschinen GmbH, to develop and produce professional lighting systems, in particular irradiation systems in the field of testing. BFE is specialized in sun simulation systems in the automotive, military and photovoltaic area. Moreover we are experts on high speed lighting systems, especially for crash and airbag test stands. BF Engineering takes over the complete production of ® Heaters

As of August 1, 2026, BF Engineering GmbH has taken over the entire production of the high-quality HEATSCOPE® infrared heaters.
HEATSCOPE® heaters are sold in more than 30 countries worldwide, with an annual production volume of approximately 5,000 units. This adds another strong business segment to our infrared technology portfolio: premium patio and outdoor heaters.
Taking over the complete production of these heaters is a perfect fit with our many years of experience in developing and manufacturing sophisticated infrared and irradiation systems. We are proud to manufacture HEATSCOPE® heaters and to ensure the brand’s consistently high quality standards.
At the same time, we are already looking ahead. New developments in the field of infrared heaters have been initiated. Our goal is to expand the product portfolio, open up additional applications and reach even more customers worldwide.
We look forward to this new responsibility and to further developing HEATSCOPE® at our production site in Germany.

During this year’s EXPO 2026 in Istanbul, our colleague Sebastian Leupold experienced firsthand one key development that became especially evident throughout the event: the global increase in defense investments is significantly accelerating demand for testing and qualification technologies.
As countries continue to invest heavily in military systems, infrastructure and equipment, the need for reliable environmental and performance testing is growing accordingly.

This was reflected in many of the conversations held during the exhibition. Interest in solar simulation and environmental testing solutions has increased noticeably, particularly for applications where products must perform reliably under demanding real-world conditions. From drones and vehicles to protective equipment and electronic systems, testing against environmental influences such as solar radiation is becoming increasingly important to ensure long-term durability, compliance and operational readiness.

For BF Engineering GmbH, the exhibition was a valuable opportunity to exchange insights with industry partners, strengthen existing relationships and gain firsthand perspective on the evolving needs of the market. We were especially pleased to be present together with our long-standing partner Star Teknik Elektronik Cih. San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. with whom we have been working closely for many years in the Turkish market.

👉 Industry standards don’t evolve on their own - they are shaped through collaboration between experts across the industry.

Last week, our colleagues Daniel Breuer and Andreas Bauer represented BF Engineering GmbH at a solar simulation expert meeting dedicated to the revision of DIN 75220.

The ad-hoc working group met at OSRAM in Herbrechtingen, bringing together specialists from across the industry to discuss potential updates and improvements to the DIN-standard.

The discussions provided a valuable platform for technical exchange and helped identify key areas for the further development.

As the global market leader in solar simulation systems, we are taking the responsibility to contribute our expertise and practical experience to this important process. We appreciate the open and constructive collaboration within the working group and look forward to supporting the next steps in the revision of the standard.

At booth #5160, we received outstanding feedback from industry leaders and initiated significant new projects in the automotive and railway sectors.

Through Made in Germany innovation, BF Engineering continues to set the global standard in solar simulation systems – strengthening our role as the trusted technology leader.

BF now generating solar power with 80 kWp PV system!

In July 2025, we put a new photovoltaic system with an output of 80.1 kWp into operation. The system consists of 178 modules (450 Wp each) and covers an area of around 356 m² on our flat roof.

The solar power generated is mainly consumed directly in the company. In addition, a battery storage system with a capacity of 21 kWh ensures that we can also draw on our own electricity when the sun is not shining. In total, we cover over 85% of our annual electricity requirements ourselves.

Some of the electricity generated is used for our electric vehicles. A total of six electric vehicles are charged with PV-optimized charging management, which massively reduces our mobility costs. The self-consumption share of the entire system is 43.5%, while we feed around 45 MWh into the grid each year.

With this system, we will avoid almost 37 tons of CO₂ per year in the future and thus sustainably improve our environmental footprint. The investment also pays off economically: with a calculated amortization period of less than 10 years, the PV system makes a noticeable contribution to reducing our energy costs.

We would like to thank Wammetsberger Elektrotechnik & Photovoltaik for the professional planning and installation of this system and are delighted to have taken another step towards a CO₂-neutral future.
