CEAC combines specifics and peculiarities of arbitration and arbitration law in the Greater China region and in Europe in one single international and multicultural arbitration institution. In accordance with its own understanding of its position, CEAC considers itself as an international institution operating worldwide. CEAC resulted from an intense and long-lasting dialogue between nearly 500 su
pporters from almost 50 jurisdictions paying special attention to the legal and cultural specifics of Chinese and European arbitration practice and law. "Division of power" and "360 degree neutrality" became fundamental guidelines and concepts for CEAC. Chinese, European and international specialists from the rest of the world are equally represented in all relevant bodies of the arbitration centre. This is not only true for the management (currently originating from China and Germany), but also for the representatives of CEAC's shareholder - Chinese European Legal Association e.V. (CELA) - (currently originating from China, Taiwan, Germany and Austria), for the boards and, most importantly, for the very heart of the arbitration centre, the Appointing Authority.
