Pure sunshine and warm summer temperatures up to 29°C made today an absolute dream on the water. With light, tactical breezes around 7 to 10 knots, the teams had to stay sharp and play every wind shift right ☀️🙌🏼

The leaderboard is tighter than ever. Hamburger Segel Club, who already claimed the Women's SAILING Champions League title back in 2023, is currently holding top spot with 18 points, closely chased by Kongelig Norsk Seilforening on 20 points 💥

The battle for the final podium spot is just as fierce. Only two points separate Münchner Yacht-Club on 27, Norddeutscher Regatta Verein on 28, and Verein Seglerhaus am Wannsee on 29 points! Meanwhile, teams like Hellerup Sejlklub and Segler Verein Stößensee made impressive late charges today, stringing together back to back bullet wins to climb up the rankings.
📈

We have just one final flight left to race before the champions are crowned. Everything is still on the line, and every single point counts 💪🏻⛵️

Day two of the Women's SAILING Champions League in Kiel demanded quite a bit of patience from everyone involved today ⏳ For a long time, we had absolutely zero knots on the water. Every now and then, a breeze of about two knots would build up, only for the wind to die down completely again 😵‍💫

Nevertheless, the mood remained excellent. The sailors made great use of the waiting time on land, enjoyed the sun, and had a little "lecture" with the Umpires and the Race Officer ☀️

Just when we had almost given up hope for any racing, relief came in the early evening. The wind filled in, stayed surprisingly steady, and we actually managed to sail one full flight before a well-deserved dinner 🌬️ In this single flight of the day, Hamburger Segel-Club, Norddeutscher Regatta Verein, and Deutscher Touring Yacht-Club each secured a win in their respective races. The top of the overall standings remains unchanged.

A look at tomorrow's forecast promises true summer conditions. We are expecting highs of up to 29°C and plenty of sunshine from noon onwards. The wind will start off solid in the morning at 9 to 10 knots with gusts around 14 to 19 knots, but is expected to drop a bit in the afternoon, settling at 7 to 8 knots ⛵ We are looking forward to the next races! 🤩

A challenging day at the Women's SAILING Champions League in Kiel is behind us 😮‍💨⛵️ Six flights have been sailed so far, and the overall standings have shifted quite a bit throughout the day. The conditions were extreme, with wind speeds ranging from 5 to 22 knots and massive shifts of up to 110 degrees coming from all directions 💨 These gusty and heavily shifting winds demanded everything from the crews tactically and kept the fleet closely packed together.

Here are the current standings after flight 6:
🥇 Hamburger Segel-Club
🥈 Kongelig Norsk Seilforening
🥉 Münchner Yacht-Club

Despite the highly unpredictable conditions, Hamburger Segel-Club managed to defend their lead with consistently strong performances, sitting at just 10 points overall. Tied on points in second place is Kongelig Norsk Seilforening, who staged a strong comeback with wins in their last two flights 📈 The podium is currently completed by Münchner Yacht-Club with 16 points.

Just how challenging these difficult wind conditions are is also reflected in the other placements. While Verein Seglerhaus am Wannsee is sitting just outside the medal ranks in 4th place, also with 16 points, Kieler Yacht-Club has dropped down to 13th place after a strong start this morning. In this tight fleet and demanding racing area, every small wind shift will be immediately punished or rewarded 🧭 Despite the tough conditions, all sailors had a beautiful but exhausting day on the water 🌊☀️ The competition remains incredibly exciting 🥳
