Be able to troubleshoot things and to self-educate

Understanding, with real life experience, of the following internet related fundamentals
TCP/IP, routing, subnets, IPv4/IPv6
DNS (what it does, how to verify DNS client function)
Protocols HTTP, SMTP, FTP (what it is, how it works (basics), where it is made for)
XML/JSON (what it is used for)
Azure blob storage
Azure AD
Azure eDiscovery
Understanding with real life experience, how to secure the fundamentals above
o Encryption (item/transport, e.g. smime, RMS, TLS)

o Firewalls/Portfilter (how it works in general, why it's needed, what it cannot do)

o X509 certificates

Basic understanding about OAuth (optional, otherwise short workshop)
Ability to work with and write PowerShell scripts
Helpful: experience in configuration and operation of webservers, database servers

Soft skills

Self-starter. Can work independently, and also as part of a team
Can self-educate, investigate / troubleshoot, and bring back solutions
Ability to re-produce and analyse issues, with test data, prepare Microsoft cases & escalations, working with Microsoft support, review Microsoft solutions

Role description: Senior DevOps Engineer (f/m)

Project Description:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be expected to setup and operate the infrastructure needed to create services and cloud solutions with a strong emphasis on data insights.

• You are a self-starter, goal-oriented, striving for perfection - engineer with the ability to work with back-end developers and data scientists alike.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with managing infrastructure on premise and in the cloud.
• You deliver and manage solutions. It is your job to enable developers and data scientists to turn data insights into stable, secure, and high-performing services and applications.
• Strong learner bringing back the findings of a project to develop re-useable components as future features of our platform

Required skills
• SAP Converged Cloud, SAP Cloud Platform as well as external infrastructure providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Extensive knowledge of operating database systems (SAP HANA, Postgres, MySQL, etc.)
• Strong experience with container technology like Docker and container orchestration systems (Kubernetes)
• Experience with automation tools (Chef) and continuous integration/continuous delivery systems (Jenkins)
• Experience in at least one scripting language (Python preferred)
• Knowledge of agile software development process and experience with development processes driven by regular code reviews
• Good communication and relationship building skills with a strong intercultural sensitivity
• Good command of English (verbal and written)

Preferred skills (Nice-to-have)
• Experience with SAP Data Hub and streaming technologies (Kafka)
• Hands on experience with Data Science and Machine Learning projects
• Experience in B2B/B2C environments or with business network products
• Having successfully worked with virtual / cross-border teams
