At ELCEDE, improvements, optimizations, and new functionalities for the diemaking industry are continuously being developed and evaluated.

In addition to prototyping, practical testing is an important part of this process. New components, technologies, and automation concepts need to be tested under realistic conditions before they can be implemented in future applications.

To carry out these tests independently of ongoing production and customer projects, the ELCEDE R&D team has built its own test machine, internally called MYSTERYMATE.

The machine is equipped with X and Y axes as well as controlled Z and C axes. Depending on the application, the working area can be configured with a vacuum table or with a dedicated bed for the extraction of process gases.

MYSTERYMATE can be used for a variety of processes, including milling, cutting, grinding, measuring, and other applications. This makes it possible to test different components, processes, and automation concepts under practical conditions.

The machine has already been used in several development projects, helping to test concepts and transfer ideas into practical applications.

The next project is currently in progress and will be presented soon.

Continuous development and improvement for the diemaking industry have been part of ELCEDE’s work for many years.

After more than 10 years of operation, the existing 3D printer at ELCEDE has been replaced by a current-generation model.

The new system offers additional technical capabilities. Multiple materials can be processed, while an integrated laser can also be used for marking and engraving parts.

The 3D printer is mainly used by our engineering department for prototyping. It supports the development of new parts and components by making designs physically tangible and allowing concepts to be visualized and simulated at an early stage.

3D printing therefore provides a useful link between digital design and practical evaluation during the development process.

Reliable and sustainable service and support for customers worldwide has always been a key priority at ELCEDE. Professional expertise, fast response times and the ability to provide effective solutions are essential when supporting highly sophisticated production systems around the globe.

To further strengthen these capabilities, ELCEDE has expanded its Service Department with two new team members: Jannis Bauer and Fabian Fleischer.

Both are State-Certified Technicians in Mechatronics, providing them with the ideal technical background for the demanding tasks of an ELCEDE Service Technician because professional machine service goes far beyond basic maintenance or simply cleaning optical components. It requires a deep understanding of mechanics, electronics, CNC technology, drive systems and complex machine processes in order to identify problems and provide sustainable solutions.

Following an intensive training and qualification period at ELCEDE, Jannis and Fabian have already successfully completed their first field assignments on different machine systems and in several countries.

With the continued expansion of its Service Department, ELCEDE is investing in long-term technical competence and reliable worldwide customer support.

Building service capabilities for the future – through qualified people, technical expertise and concrete action rather than empty promises.

The lighting in the ELCEDE production halls has been converted to modern LED technology. The upgrade significantly reduces electricity consumption and increases the overall energy efficiency of the facility.

The entire conversion was carried out in-house by our own employees. This allowed the modernization to be implemented using internal expertise and resources.

In addition, the new lighting provides better and more uniform illumination of the work areas, creating improved conditions for employees in assembly and production.

Another step in the ongoing modernization of our production facilities and preparation for the future.

A valued ELCEDE tradition continued last Friday with the annual visit to the Kirchheimer Weindorf.

In pleasant summer temperatures, the ELCEDE team enjoyed an enjoyable evening at the Waldhornlaube, hosted by Robert Ruthenberg, with a selection of regional food and beverages.

Beyond the culinary experience, the evening offered a welcome opportunity to spend time together outside the daily working environment, strengthen team spirit and enjoy good conversations in a relaxed atmosphere.

Just as commitment, reliability and teamwork shape ELCEDE’s daily work for customers around the world, shared moments like these are an important part of a strong team culture.

A successful evening and a tradition worth continuing.

The ELCEDE COUNTERMATE evo has earned its reputation worldwide by meeting the highest standards of accuracy, reliability, and productivity. Every day, leading die shops around the globe rely on their machine to manufacture high-precision phenolic and steel counters, ensuring outstanding quality and consistent production results.

ELCEDE is now taking precision to the next level.

A new optional Laser Tool Measurement System is now available for the COUNTERMATE evo. Using advanced laser technology, the machine automatically measures each milling cutter—not only its length, but also its diameter.

This additional level of intelligence allows the machine to automatically detect tool wear and compensate for it during production. The result is consistently accurate machining with uniform milling channel widths, reduced manual intervention, longer unattended production, and maximum process reliability.

Because true precision is not just about measuring once—it’s about measuring continuously.

Another successful installation completed: an ELCEDE LCS evo combo DC025 is now in operation at DiTech York Inc. in York, Pennsylvania (USA).

Designed for maximum productivity on a compact footprint, the system is equipped with every major automation option, including the high-speed QUICKSCAN galvo head, the fully automatic QUICKMILL routing unit, and the QUICKCLAMP automatic wood clamping system. This configuration enables the precise and efficient production of both flatbed and rotary die tools within a single, highly flexible manufacturing platform.

Following an extensive evaluation of the market, owner Jim Osmolinski and his son Matt Price were convinced that they had found not only the right machine, but also the right long-term partner.

„Like us, ELCEDE is a second-generation family business. They offer the best machines, backed by outstanding service, support, and genuine commitment to their customers. We are looking forward to a long and successful partnership.“

The successful installation at DiTech York Inc. marks another milestone in delivering advanced laser technology that combines precision, automation, and long-term reliability for modern diemaking operations.

A new ELCEDE LCS evo is currently being installed at Kolb Wellpappe in Memmingen, Germany.

The new laser system replaces a machine that has been in operation for more than 20 years and will further improve the efficiency and precision of manufacturing tools for internal use in the company’s die-cutting machines.

This installation also marks another milestone in the long-standing cooperation between the two family-owned companies. Over the past 35 years, Kolb has invested in three ELCEDE laser systems, beside other equipment such as rule processing. The partnership has been shaped by mutual trust, appreciation, and respect—values that have been cultivated over decades and continue to provide a strong foundation for sustainable collaboration, technological progress, and shared long-term success across generations.

Investing in a new production machine is a major decision for every die shop. Such investments are typically made only every 15–20 years, making them both strategically important and financially significant.

For this reason, ELCEDE is committed to being a reliable partner from the very beginning of the decision-making process. The focus extends far beyond selling a machine. Transparency, trust, and long-term reliability throughout the entire lifetime of the equipment are the foundation of every customer relationship.

To support informed decisions, customers are invited to visit ELCEDE’s headquarters in Kirchheim/Teck, Germany. A personal visit provides the opportunity to experience the company, meet the people behind the technology, and gain first-hand insight into the manufacturing processes and company culture.

For more than 45 years, ELCEDE has been delivering more than machines. The company has been building trust, creating lasting partnerships, and helping customers grow and succeed together.
