During a delightful short trip to Little Tokyo last week, we stumbled upon a stunning piece of retail architecture on Stresemannstrasse in Düsseldorf. This beautiful space reminds us also of our neighbors from downstairs. Beyond Studio , a former car repair shop transformed into a magnificent concept store by Lena Pfalz in 2016, exudes effortless cool. We absolutely love it. If you find yourself in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit.

Our team has been entrusted with a captivating project: reimagining the Ace & Tate store in Edinburgh through a distinctive lens – the world of whiskey. Drawing inspiration from Edinburgh’s rich heritage in whiskey making, our concept aims to infuse the store with an alluring and sophisticated ambiance reminiscent of the subtle allure of fine whiskey.

I love those who can smile in trouble, who can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. ‚Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but they whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves their conduct, will pursue their principles unto death.

Designer, architect, writer, poet, Ettore Sottsass (Innsbruck, Austria, 1917-Milan, 2007) is one of the most important creators of the 20th century and has been a great inspiration of our studios work and the thinking behind. Throughout his life, Sottsass never stopped emphasizing the emotional dimension of design, beyond rationalism and functionalism. As an architect, he also conceived of design as another aspect of architecture. Thank you for this wonderful and inspiring exhibition.

W–H studios contributed the visual identity and all printed matter for the exhibition »Afritecture: Building Social Change« at Architekturmuseum, Munich. The show shed a spotlight on construction projects and public buildings in Africa developed with local materials and resumed dormant building traditions.

By taking into account ecological, economic, and social aspects, several architects have developed sustainable approaches and solutions to some of the continent’s most pressing design challenges. The opulent catalogue features essays by architectural historians and presents around 20 outstanding examples of contemporary African architecture south of the Sahara.

Use your illusion — For signature store in Munich, we played conceptually through illusion and perception with the visual senses.

The design concept draws passersby’s attention from the exterior of the heritage building to the electric, contemporary space inside. Mirror panes mirror one another, forming fragmented reflections of interiors and structures. Black lines and frames, display systems, and neon light installations create a vanishing point to guide the gaze. Chill-out areas and music-listening hubs unite customers in a unique and relaxed atmosphere.

Our perception of human beauty may be subjective, but the core of our aesthetic sensibility comes from laws that are found everywhere in nature. Essential to our sense of beauty is symmetry, which manifests itself in thousands of ways in nature – be it in the structure of a crystal or the human body.

In this spirit, we created a strong emphasis on symmetry and formal clarity in corporate and interior design for Berlin's aesthetic practice Peyman Bamdad. Peyman Bamdad’s Persian origin also plays an important role in all visual areas. Subtle references can be found in Persian literature, architecture, nature, and art.

Like a clearing in the forest - Still one of our favorite projects in Mitte: Berlin Mitte store. Inspired by Gerhard Richter's abstract and monochromatic canvases, the interior is designed with a palette of sea green and a quietly clinical aesthetic.
