When working with freelance translators, you should only work with experienced expert translators that are not only great linguists but also know about the business processes involved when working with small and medium-sized enterprises.

A good freelance translator is able to adapt his/her style of writing to your needs as well as to your target audience. They should be able to understand your product or service in order to be able to produce high-quality translations.

When working with freelance translators, you should ask for a sample translation of similar content in order to get an idea of what kind of quality you can expect from them. If possible, try to get references from previous clients so that you know what kind of service they provide on a regular basis.

I've been interested in computers, programming, robotics, and IT in general for as long as I can remember. I started working with computers when I was 11, and the first programming language I learned was Pascal back in high school (the German "Gymnasium"). When I was 19, I wrote and published a book on C++ programming for beginners. In 2010, when I was 25, I translated a book on Python programming for the renowned Springer Verlag in Heidelberg, Germany.

The German translation of the Python book was my first major translation project in the IT sector, but it certainly wasn't my last. During the past 12 years, I worked on dozens of IT projects, but 2022 was an exceptional year. This year, I had the opportunity to translate 5 coursebooks on IT topics for a big German university. Each coursebook had around 150 pages and took me around 4 to 6 weeks to complete. And despite I already knew a lot about all the topics, each coursebook translation still involved a tremendous amount of research. What I find most interesting about projects like these is that they give me an opportunity to learn about the topics myself. I must learn about them in order to achieve a flawless translation.

Now, this client opted to work with me again for the next batch of coursebooks, and I am very excited to work on them.
