This study from the Bertelsmann Foundation finds that many companies face a shortage of skilled workers even in the Corona crisis. It further says, skilled workers from abroad play an increasingly important role for German companies given the declining number of domestic workers. For recruiting from abroad, the companies cite language communication problems and the difficulty of correctly assessing the qualifications as the most significant hurdles.
