🚗 Does Your Car Use Sensors or Software?

That TPMS warning light on your dashboard may look the same, but not every car monitors tyre pressure the same way.

🔹 Direct TPMS uses physical sensors inside each wheel to measure the actual tyre pressure and can provide precise PSI readings.

🔸 Indirect TPMS works differently. Instead of pressure sensors inside the tyres, it uses data from the vehicle’s ABS/wheel-speed system to detect changes that may indicate low tyre pressure.

So, what’s the difference? One measures pressure directly. The other detects changes indirectly.

Understanding which system your vehicle uses can make tyre maintenance, troubleshooting and sensor replacement much easier.
