Starts September 14th

Wed Sept 2nd
Pr******te
+ Rosa Rost
Presented by ByteFM
Doors 19:00
Start 20:00
VVK 15, AK 18

Formed in 2020 in Dearborn, Michigan, Pr******te is an experimental post-punk and Arab rock band. Born out of the isolation of the COVID-19 lockdown, the band’s debut album, Attempted Martyr, was written in the midst of global and personal turmoil, capturing the zeitgeist of a world unraveling. A loose concept record, it chronicles the rise and fall of a doomed zealot whose pursuit of holy vengeance spirals into a psychotic o**y of violence, greed, and lust.

The band was initially formed by Moe Kazra who enlisted childhood friends Andrew Kaster and Dylan Zaranski, with Ross Babinski and Bret Wall later completing the lineup. Together, they self-funded the album, working with legendary engineer Chris Koltay to shape a sound that’s both abrasive and hypnotic—an unrelenting blend of warped guitars, primitive basslines, frenzied drumming, and corrosive synthesizers, interwoven with samples from diverse cultures, ranging from African to Middle Eastern and East Asian influences.

Rosa Rost are a self-styled ‘Gazepunk’ newcomer band from Munich. Between dark, jagged sounds and expansive walls of sound, a sound unfolds that invites you to lose yourself in it just as much as it does to dance. The songs are angry, ironic or deadly serious – and take aim at social conditions that are irritating, restrictive or simply no longer tolerable. Expect a raw mix of post-punk, shoegaze and new wave.

Contagious
(DE)
Andrea Neumann, Sabine Ercklentz, and Mieko Suzuki make up CONTAGIOUS, a mixture of avant-garde experimentation and electronic music. The guts from the inside of a piano, the tonearms of turntables, the puffing of a trumpet together form an entity which is continuously developing.

Bruine
(FR/DE)
Bruine is between the concert and the sound installation. Each instrument will be connected to several loudspeakers placed into the objects on the floor. Diffusers as well as musicians (Michael Thieke, Tom Malmendier, Emilie Skrijelj) will have to be mobile to inhabit the space.

Clément Vercelletto
(FR)
Clément Vercelletto is a musician and stage director whose research focuses on the points of articulation and clarity between these two practices. His album played live becomes a sculptural work made of amplified drones, modular synth, and French bagpipe.

Augustė Vickunaitė
(Lithuania)
Augustė Vickunaitė is a sound experimentalist employing vintage reel-to-reel tape recorders to play layers of recordings including found material and the malfunctions of decaying technology. She is known for humorously exploiting errors of analog audio equipment.

Martin Brugger
(DE)
Martin Brugger is the co-founder of Munich’s Squama Recordings. He is preparing a DJ set of no-music, free jazz and electro-acoustic compositions.

Supported by Ernst von Siemens Musikstiftung & the Cultural Department of the City of Munich.

Doors 19:00

VVK 17, AK 20

Garth Erasmus is a musician, instrument maker, visual artist, and activist living in Cape Town, South Africa. His visual and musical works are created against the backdrop of the present and history of the indigenous KhoiSan people of South Africa, to whom he belongs. He challenges the hegemonic and exclusionary constructions of "Colored identity" that persist even after the end of apartheid. Through research into pre-colonial history, he reappropriates indigenous knowledge, transforming the "musical bow of the KhoiSan," as found in ethnological museums and central to his work, into an electrified tool. Erasmus also plays instruments he has constructed, such as the blikken'n'snar, the bamboo sax, and the hosepipe, as well as the tenor and alto saxophones.

Aylin’s Soulgarden

Doors 19:00
Start 20:00
VVK 14, AK 16

Aylin’s Soulgarden innovatively blend Anatolian musical traditions and contemporary elements of pop, jazz and electro. The band’s first album Bu bir demdir was released in October 2024 on the German label CPL-Music. Aylin’s Soulgarden reimagine the profound verses of traditional Alevi poets like Muhyiddin Abdal and Pir Sultan through a modern lens in a lively, intoxicating sound bed of indie psychedelic pop with a pinch of soul, and have already garnered international acclaim. At the heart are the distinctive vocals of Aylin Yildirim and the sparkling saz of Eren Yildirim, both rooted in the Alevi folk music community. They are joined by Girisha Fernando, a seasoned bassist, guitarist and producer with an indie and jazz background, while Paul Etschberger, a versatile keyboardist, adds his pop sensibilities and glittering synth melodies to the musical canvas. The band is also supported by Lucy Pereira on backing vocals and Stefan Brodte on drums.

Container “Open Project Band” aims to explore and showcase the vast world of Greek songs. A musical journey through time into the world of Greek songs, from the past to the present. This new project features well-known musicians from Munich’s Greek music scene: Nektaría (vocals), J***y Chatzis (vocals, guitar), George Fagogenis (bouzouki, vocals), and Jojo Georgios Koutsoukis (double bass, electric bass).
