September brings together a major festival, Baroque opera and three new album releases.

From 4 to 13 September, Bayreuth Baroque presents eleven days of opera and concerts. At the heart of this year’s festival is a new production of Handel’s «Floridante», directed by Max Emanuel Cencic at the Margravial Opera House.

On 18 September, Palazzetto Bru Zane releases «Zampa» on Bru Zane Label, a new CD-book dedicated to Ferdinand Hérold’s once immensely popular opéra-comique.

Two further recordings follow on 25 September. Freiburger Barockorchester and Kristian Bezuidenhout release the sixth volume of their Mozart piano concerto series on harmonia mundi. Concerto Copenhagen’s «Queen Christina», released on FugaLibera / Outhere, is the first album in the new series «Tides of Scandinavian Baroque» and explores the cosmopolitan musical world surrounding the Swedish queen.

September also marks the start of a new season for many of the ensembles and institutions we represent. Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège opens with Verdi’s «Macbeth» on 18 September, followed by Concerto Köln at the Festival Alte Musik Knechtsteden on 19 September and La Cetra Basel with «Ispirazione barocca» on 24 September.

We look forward to a month full of festivals, opera, new recordings and the beginning of an inspiring new season.

What a way to start the tour!

A sensational concert last night at the new Friedrichsforum Bayreuth: Freiburger Barockorchester with Sir Simon Rattle in outstanding form – and a phenomenal Isabelle Faust - with music by Beethoven, Wagner and Schumann

The tour now continues to Lucerne, Berlin, Bremen, Ravello and finally London for the BBC Proms.

We were delighted to be there for the opening night and incredibly proud to work with artists of this calibre.

50 years of Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik!

This year’s festival marked 50 years of the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik – a special occasion to celebrate the festival’s long-standing dedication to early music and its international artistic profile.

We are looking back at some of the highlights of the anniversary edition – from concerts and performances to the major production of Antonio Cesti’s "Il pomo d’oro".

More than 350 years after its premiere in Innsbruck, Antonio Cesti’s "Il pomo d’oro" was performed there for the first time since its original production, as one of the highlights of this year’s programme.

🎼 The Motets – Out Now

The new recording of Johann Sebastian Bach’s six motets BWV 225–230, performed by the Gaechinger Cantorey under the direction of Hans-Christoph Rademann, is out today on Accentus Music.

A new milestone in the artistic work of the Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, continuing the Gaechinger Cantorey’s longstanding engagement with Bach’s sacred vocal repertoire.

Out now: Jonathan Roozeman – Kaiku 🎻

Jonatan Roozeman’s debut solo album Kaiku (Echo) – Finnish Contemporary Works for Cello is out now on BIS Records.

The album brings together contemporary Finnish works for cello, exploring a wide range of musical perspectives and reflecting Roozeman’s close artistic engagement with the composers.

Almost all works featured on the album are world premiere recordings, including compositions written specifically for Roozeman and premiered by him.

🎭 Daniel Behle – New Opera & Role Debut

With "Schmetterling", Daniel Behle - Tenor presents his second opera/operetta – a loving and ironic look at the world of opera and the Bayreuther Festspiele - Bayreuth Festival.

The world premiere will take place on 10 October 2026 at the Eduard-von-Winterstein-Theater in Annaberg-Buchholz, with Bruno Borralhinho conducting and Jasmin Solfaghari directing.

Just a few weeks later, Daniel Behle will make his role debut as Bacchus in Richard Strauss’ "Ariadne auf Naxos" at the Wiener Staatsoper on 22 November.

Two exciting milestones in Daniel Behle’s upcoming season. ✨

Kaleidoscope – 🩰 KAMMERBALLETTEN × Concerto Copenhagen 🎼

A few impressions from Kaleidoscope in Copenhagen ✨

This special project brought together Kammerballetten and Concerto Copenhagen, combining contemporary ballet with live Baroque music. The programme featured new works by Sebastian Kloborg and Tobias Praetorius alongside Paul Lightfoot’s "Selvportræt".

A unique collaboration between music and dance, with Concerto Copenhagen performing the music live.

Mazeppa on the Bestenliste! ✨

We are delighted that Clémence de Grandval’s Mazeppa, released by Palazzetto Bru Zane, has been selected for the latest Bestenliste of Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik in the category Opera II.

The recording, conducted by Mihhail Gerts with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester and the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks, brings Clémence de Grandval’s long-forgotten Mazeppa back to the attention of today’s audiences.

Congratulations to everyone involved in this special project!

August continues the festival season with projects ranging from early music and contemporary ballet to two new album releases.

Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik continue throughout the month as they celebrate their 50th anniversary. We are accompanying the festival with press and communications work around a programme that includes Cesti’s "Il pomo d’oro", Handel’s Atalanta and numerous concerts.

In Copenhagen, Concerto Copenhagen and KAMMERBALLETTEN present "Kaleidoscope" from 14 to 16 August. The new production brings Baroque music and contemporary ballet together in a programme featuring two world premieres.

On 21 August, Jonathan Roozeman releases his debut solo album "Kaiku (Echo)" on BIS Records, featuring contemporary Finnish works for cello, most of them world premiere recordings.

A week later, the Gaechinger Cantorey and Hans-Christoph Rademann release "J. S. Bach: The Motets", a complete recording of Bach’s motets.

At the end of the month, the Haydneum Eszterháza Festival opens at Esterházy Palace with Haydn’s "Orlando paladino", while Festival Barocco Alessandro Stradella di Viterbo e Nepi begins in Viterbo with a programme centred on the rediscovery of Stradella’s music.

We look forward to a month full of festivals, premieres, new recordings and inspiring artistic encounters.
