Garry Tan is the CEO of Y Combinator, the most influential startup accelerator in the world. YC has created Airbnb, Stripe, Dropbox, Coinbase and Reddit, funding over 5,000 companies and creating over $600 billion in corporate assets.

Every major investment fund in the world is torn to invest in YC companies.

Garry Tan has just released a 14-minute video: “The New Way To Build A Startup.”

It summarises what I have been thinking, teaching and preaching for six months: an avalanche is rolling towards us.

Most people don’t see them, or don’t want to.

Today, small teams and solopreneurs can use tools like Claude Code to do things that corporations need entire departments for.

Code, support, marketing, sales, QA, hiring, etc. Everything can be automated.

The result: a single employee does what twenty previously needed. YC calls it the “20X-Company”.

That’s the good news.

The bad: The cost structures of large companies are becoming unsustainable. Shrinkage, job cuts, and falling salaries are the inevitable consequences.

We are experiencing the transition from before Claude Code to Claude Code, and it will be massive.

If you’re a CEO, investor, or someone who’s never tried Claude Code before, you have a problem. Not tomorrow. Now.
