🎬 DOC GENERATION AT MakeDox 2026

Emerging filmmakers, new perspectives and plenty of exchange: as part of the activities at 2026, Doc Generation brought together young directors whose films were presented in the festival’s Student Competition.

Led by Zeynep Güzel, the participants took part in mentorship sessions focused on navigating the documentary industry and reflecting on their next professional steps. They also joined two masterclasses, attended Doc Talks Under the Fig Tree and watched each other’s films, creating space for mutual feedback, new connections and exchange with established film professionals.

And there was reason to celebrate: HELLO NEW BODY, HOW ARE YOU TODAY? by Laura Kansy won this year’s Onion Seed Award in the Student Program! 🧅✨ In her deeply personal film, Kansy reflects on living with ME/CFS and asks what a life worth living can mean when everything once taken for granted suddenly becomes impossible.

With Doc Generation, DOC AROUND EUROPE aims to bring emerging filmmakers closer to the industry and connect a new generation of documentary voices across Europe.

A few impressions from Skopje! 📸
