2 MW. A1 & A2 waste wood. Six HKA 300 Pro. ⚡

Spanner Re² has received an order for a new wood gasification project in Asia.

The project combines our complete system technology and demonstrates how biomass residues can be converted into renewable electricity at industrial scale.

Using A1 and A2 waste wood as fuel, the plant will turn a low-value residual material into a reliable source of renewable energy.

With a total electrical output of 2 MW, the installation highlights the growing role of wood gasification in larger-scale energy applications.

In the video, you can see the system's level indicator.

Using locally available macadamia residues, this system generates heat and power for daily operation, turning agricultural by-products into a valuable energy resource.

And it's not just macadamia residues that can be utilized. Many other biogenic by-products, such as waste wood, pallets or residues from furniture production, can also be converted into valuable energy.

Why is this site one of our benchmark installations worldwide? 👀

Recently, we visited one of our long-standing partner sites in Slovenia together with our partners from Asia.

The site combines pellet production with a well-established wood chip fuel supply chain. Two biomass CHP units with a combined electrical output of 770 kW demonstrate how locally available biomass can be used for flexible renewable power generation.

What makes this project particularly interesting is its flexible operating concept: the CHP plants are typically started in the evening when electricity prices rise and shut down again the following morning when large volumes of solar power enter the grid.

This allows the operator to generate renewable electricity when it is most valuable while ensuring every kilowatt-hour of heat is utilised through thermal storage systems and existing heat consumers.

💡 A great example of how wood gasification can complement solar power with flexible, dispatchable renewable energy.

Das Foto zeigt aufbereitetes A4-Altholz - stark behandeltes und schadstoffbelastetes Altholz, das als gefährlicher Abfall eingestuft wird und besonders hohe Anforderungen an Anlagentechnik und Filtration stellt. Kurz gesagt: Brennstoff im Grenzbereich.

Ein Kunde in Asien testet unsere Anlage aktuell unter genau diesen anspruchsvollen Bedingungen. Dabei geht es nicht nur um die technische Machbarkeit: Ziel ist es, die CO₂-Emissionen in der Lieferkette eines führenden Halbleiterherstellers zu reduzieren und einen Einsatzstoff zu verwerten, der ansonsten nahezu keinen Wert hat.

Die bisherigen Erfahrungen sind sehr positiv - insbesondere unsere neuen Jet-Filter überzeugen im Praxiseinsatz.

Denn die wahre Leistungsfähigkeit einer Anlage zeigt sich nicht unter Idealbedingungen, sondern dann, wenn es darauf ankommt. 💪
