Cultivating approximately 6 hectars of vines, Weingut Geissler produces an average of 3,000 cases per year. Their emphasis has long been on white wine - primarily Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Silvaner, with smaller amounts of Gewurztraminer and Scheurebe. In addition to these whites, the winery also produces its fair share of red wine (mostly Pinot Noir) and in suitable years, a Weißburgu
nder Sekt. All Geissler wines are made using organic guidelines from vine to bottle, with only minimal intrusion into the natural process. No herbicides, pesticides or other synthetic chemicals are used in the vineyards. The yields are kept low through hand pruning and manual selection during harvest. The grapes are lightly pressed with only the absolutely necessary agents used in the vinification. Weingut Geissler strives to make wines that are a direct reflection of the unique qualities each vineyard and vintage brings - where the hand of nature is never overpowered by that of the wine maker, where a glass can accompany a meal without overwhelming it, and where opening the third bottle doesn't lead to a guilty conscience (or headache)… in short, wines that find their expression not in an explosive first sip, but rather reveal their nuances subtly when paired with the perfect dish or over the course of a bottle between friends and family.
