A few days ago, we released the third edition of the P3 Charging Index 🙌 🔋 📊

The was developed to precisely measure the time it takes an electric vehicle to recharge a specific range. This is achieved by comparing the consumption stats and charging curves of EVs.

The ideal value of the P3 Charging Index of 1.0 corresponds with the ability of electric vehicles to recharge 300 km of range within 20 minutes, enabling a practical long-distance mobility from the customer's perspective.

In this latest edition of the P3CI, an electric vehicle has surpassed the benchmark of 1.0 for the first time ever. Find out more ⬇️

Especially during winter season question marks appear among electric vehicle ( ) drivers, caused by actual driving ranges and charging performance achieved.

Why do their EVs not reach the and as fast as promised by the manufacturer's spec-sheet? Why do low temperatures have such a big impact on the of their EV? And does the choice of the system, respectively chemistries, have an influence on the weak charging performance and can preconditioning help to mitigate these effects?

To analyse this phenomenon, we have performed a study on at low temperatures and the importance of preconditioning for with actual test data to get to the bottom of this.
