You eat what the garden gives you.
That’s what my grandmother used to say. In her days, you simply cooked with what was growing outside — no supermarket, no long list of ingredients. You looked at the garden and decided what was for dinner.
So, following this old wisdom, we are opening the Plum Week for your offsite.
Sunday brought just the right storm to shake almost all the plums from our wonderfully old, super-high tree — perfectly timed, as if the garden had planned the menu itself.
So this week, it’s plums all the way: homemade plum cake, plum muesli, plum jam, plum tarte… you name it.
Be prepared, you will smell it already in running the workshop.
And just to give you a little outlook:
next week it’s Apple Week, followed by Pear Week, and finally Quince Week. Not to mention the sea buckthorn which is a super food but might scare you.
