27 years.
That’s how long the waited to return to the Finals. When Coach spoke about the player who got them there, one thing stood above everything else. And that genuinely touched me.
He didn’t primarily talk about points, statistics, or talent. He talked about attitude. 💎
is not the loudest in the room. But he shows up. Every single day. Calm when it’s going well. Steady when it’s not. Not making himself bigger — making everyone around him better.
And that’s the part that stayed with me. Because immediately, I thought about the corporate world…
Because the strongest teams are rarely built only around the loudest or most talented people. They are built around people who contribute every single day. People who:
→ are reliable,
→ put in the work,
→ take responsibility,
→ make others better through their attitude,
→ and stay together when things get difficult.
The best teams in business aren’t just built around the most talented people. They’re built around the ones who bring in energy, discipline, work ethic, stability and team spirit.
One person like that changes a team. Which is why these 3 questions are worth sitting with:
→ How do you want to be seen by the people you work with?
→ Who makes you better… and do you make them better in return?
→ What does your daily contribution say about who you are?
The Knicks didn’t wait 27 years for a great scorer. They waited for the right person to make everyone else great.
That’s how the best teams are built. Both in sports and in business. 🧩
