Helix Propeller

Helix Propeller Founded in 1990, Helix-Carbon is specialized in designing and manufacturing carbon composite propellers for a wide range of applications.

In area of aviation, we develop comprehensive propellers for aircrafts with engine power up to 200 kw. Our propellers are innovatively designed based on our 27 years experience and extensive flight tests, and are made with strengthened carbon composite materials which offer ideal properties for propeller construction. Special features of Helix propeller are: high strength, low weight, extremely ro

bust with excellent efficiency in a wide speed range combined with low noise. Helix is recognized as an indisputable worldwide market leader in this industry.

Due to low platform engagement indicative of a dying platform, we have chosen to no longer actively post on the book of faces. There was a time when FB was THE platform for connecting with people. That time is unfortunately long gone. We will, of course, continue to be active on Instagram. With time, we may even follow the cool kids to the Tok and beyond. If you need to get ahold of us, please visit our website at https://www.helix-propeller.de

Another one for the books! The powered , fitted with the mighty Helix H42A VTL "Talon" propeller, cleared the final hurdle towards certification by passing the ever intimidating German noise test. A great big thanks to our friends at Alpi Aviation and Pioneer Aircraft GmbH for helping us achieve this important milestone!

This pretty little stopped by for a new propeller. We fitted it with the sleek and lightweight Helix H50F LTS propeller, which boasts more aggressive characteristics for a little more kick in the pants and a higher top speed than the OEM propeller.

Another day, another step closer to a (nearly) silent aircraft. Helix was host to the team from FB6 at FH Aachen as they performed noise testing on the OEM propeller of the Pipistrel Aircraft electric airplane. These tests set the baseline against which the new Helix / FH / Westflug Flight Training joint venture "FlüsterProp" ("Whisper Prop") will be tested. The FlüsterProp project is being sponsored by the NRW Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Traffic and aims to reduce noise pollution low flying aircraft like air taxis and drones.

Special thanks to:
Matthias, Tim, Philipp, another Matthias and Dorian for stopping their work long enough to have their pictures taken.

We are always looking for ways to improve. To that end, we are happy to be working with Martin from Mavionics to test out their new Rotax engine governor. The governor will help level out unwanted pitch changes at high RPM, allowing you to get the most out of your Rotax engines. We have proven the effectiveness of the governor on our 915 testbench and are getting ready to put it through its paces with in-flight testing on our 916 powered Impulse (more on the Impulse coming soon!).

The Helix H50F-LTM propeller (fitted with nickel-cobalt leading edge protection) puts the cherry on the Tecnam cake. This particularly dapper looking Tecnam P96 Golf 100, powered by the Rotax 912ULS, stopped by just to have its picture taken before continuing on its merry way.

5 blades? Or 3? Which one would you rather fly? We've been having too much fun testing out the newest generation of Helix propellers on the mighty JMB VL3 Evolution. While both propellers provided a swift kick in the pants, they each brought their own individual characteristics to the flying experience. Which adventure would you choose? Let us know in the comments!

Always a pleasure to hang out and work together with the fine folks from JMB Aircraft! We were stoked to welcome the guys from JMB Aircraft Germany to try out the new 5-blade H42A-VTL-5 hydraulic propeller on the Rotax 916is powered VL3 Evolution. The combination performed flawlessly- delivering fast acceleration, ample power and a smooth ride- all while saving significant weight over "the other guy's" propeller. We took the opportunity to do an official noise measurement which it passed with flying colors.

Helix is always pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Although we are well known for our airplane and paramotor propellers, we are also a world-leader in the multicopter, eVTOL, and unmanned aircraft spaces. We have designed and manufactured propellers for countless platforms around the world and our research and development capabilities are unmatched. Pictured here is our esteemed leader, Richard Krüger-Sprengel, with the absolutely massive H50F LSL propeller. Purpose built for EVTOL applications, this behemoth measures 2.8 meters (over 9 feet) long and can handle rapid changes in acceleration for precision flight.
