A one-woman-show, but without loneliness 💃 ✨
The day before yesterday, I was sitting with a delicious Dak Gangjeong in a Korean restaurant and talking to a friend about my everyday business life. At some point, the question came up whether it wasn't boring, as a self-employed person, not to have any colleagues around me. And yes, of course, sometimes I miss having a cozy chat in the coffee kitchen. But self-employment is not quite as lonely as one might think.
Namely, I got together with my two accountability buddies Kathi and Josefine in the spring of 2021. Kathi had put out a call in a Facebook group because she was looking for other people who also wanted to embark on the path to self-employment. After just a few meetings over Zoom, I realised how comfortable I felt with the two of them and how good it felt to plan together, exchange ideas and consult each other when problems arose, and make battle plans.
Holy cow! Without this wonderful concept of an accountability group, I certainly wouldn't be where I am today! And you just stay more on track with such a group dynamic!
Kathi has been in Canada for a while, Josefine in Germany and I was in Mexico last year - yes, admittedly - the meetings are sometimes less regular. But nevertheless, I am so happy that after 2 years we still have a solid connection, know each other really well by now, and can do some straight talking with each other. This experience shows me how much motivation and fun can arise when you simply get together with like-minded people! Absolutely love it! ⭐ 💪
