Bærtex is a Danish interior design company that enable consumers to minimize textile waste, by eliminating the end-of-life cycle for textiles, through investments in sustainably upcycled products. BærTex is an abbreviation of ‘Bæredygtige’ (‘Sustainable’ in Danish) and ‘Textiles’.

The company was founded in 2020 with a mission of providing alternative interior design products made from waste textile materials, and offset huge amounts of textile waste produced in Denmark.

BærTex’s goal is to offset the 42.130 tons of textile waste being incinerated as a result of Danish waste textile every year.

This 'Drop of Waste' is made from 70% wasted textile material. Yes, this is old clothing, and based on a classic teardrop design. However, the design is far from classic. The lamp is meant to provoke with its elegant design and rough material.

This lamp is made from wasted clothes and sheets to become an interior decoration with a functional purpose. The design is intricate and based on the concept of "less is more", which is why the lamp has no assembling parts. Each piece is carefully crafted to fit within one another, which makes this lamp one unique unit, one tear, with one purpose. To illuminate the wasted textiles used for its very own existence.
