Earlier this week, Mette Østergaard signed Berlingske's editorial arguing that Berlingske would not use an language towards other genders than female or male.

No surprise, we don’t agree. Because an inclusive language is the foundation to ensure that everybody is part of the conversation and that their voices get heard.

Read co-founder Helene Aagaard words (in DK).

Mette Østergaard skrev 6. oktober en leder i Berlingske om, at Berlingske ikke kommer til at referere til non-binÊre med ikke-kÞnnede pronomener, fordi »det for os er vigtigt ...

Based on responds from 2000 workplaces, the employer’s willingness to hire a qualified applicant falls from around 70% to about 22%, if the applicant is using a wheelchair which requires minor adjustments at the workplace.

Even when they are told that the job centre has recommended the applicant or that it is possible to get financial support to adjust the workplace, the increase in companies willingness to hire applicant with disabilities is not a whole lot different. This is regardless of the place being a public or private organisation.

Even though, it would be nice, if we could just be allowed to be Trine Askholm Olrik, founder of InnovatorQ, and Helene Aagaard, CEO of Diversity Factor and co-founder of GoGetty, we cannot change that we are also women - something we actually don't want to change. That acknowledgement leaves us with both opportunities and limitations.

We are talking gender and consequences in an opinion piece in today's Altinget.dk (in Danish). Go read.

KRONIK: Vi kan ikke Êndre pÄ, at vi er kvinder, og at vores kÞn stiller lige sÄ mange muligheder som begrÊnsninger op, skriver de to ivÊrksÊttere Helene Aagaard og Trine Askholm.

A new Danish study shows that gender balance also has positive effects on work performance.

Associate Professor Florence VillesĂšche from Copenhagen Business School and Professor Jakob Lauring from Aarhus Universitet have collected data from more than 1,000 academic leaders from universities in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Holland.

The results show that openness towards diversity is positively related to team performance, and that the relation is strongest in teams that are closest to a 50/50 gender balance.

VR is now being described as an “empathy machine”, because VR technology has proven to actually being able to affect our empathy.

Stanford University has conducted a study about VR and empathy in which 560 people participated. The participants were presented to stories and lives of homelessness in different forms.

Those participants using VR rather than just written text or on a screen, were more prone to answer that the homeless’ lives mattered to them personally and also agreed to a larger extent that society does not do enough to help the homeless.

GoGetty is an employer branding and diversity platform that makes diversity and inclusion measurable and transparent. Our goal is to bring innovative companies and diverse talents together. An ideal GoGetty gender diversity score equals 50%. The more ambitious goals, the higher the score.

Through GoGetty’s unique ethnicity score, companies are also invited to share data on nationalities employed and languages spoken in their organisations. This little information can say a lot about how inclusive companies are towards different ethnicities.
