Two weeks ago, I officially launched my new learning platform — 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝗳𝗷𝗮𝗹𝗹 — and the first programme: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 – 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

It happened after a talk I gave at SOHO in Copenhagen on one of my favourite topics: cultural differences in leadership.

After the discussion, I introduced The Clarity Journey for the first time in person — combining insights, reflections, and a glass of champagne with great people.

The feedback since has been incredibly encouraging — from colleagues, friends, and the very first course participants.

𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻
Earlier this week, I caught up with Alejandro—someone I hadn’t seen since our days working together in Venezuela. We walked through Copenhagen, talked about old times, and picked up a conversation on leadership and personal development that still feels relevant.

Years ago, I lived in his country—a place that challenged me deeply, both personally and professionally. It’s where my resilience was tested, and where working under pressure created bonds that last beyond the job.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀—𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱, 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘄, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝘂𝗽.

This week, I got to show him a bit of my world.
A full-circle moment—and a reminder that shared challenge creates lasting connection.

𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗕𝘂𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁—𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗸
I returned last Monday after a week in Bucharest, filled with many meaningful conversations, lunches, coffees and dinners.
Each one reminded me why I still value the friendships I built there—and why this city continues to mean something to me.

Along the way, one theme kept surfacing:
The lack of structured leadership development—and how too many are expected to lead, but never shown how.

And it seems to be a global pattern.
- According to Gallup, 𝟲𝟬–𝟳𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴—before or after stepping into the role.
- Gartner reports that 𝟴𝟬% 𝗼𝗳 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝘂𝗻𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 when they start leading.

It’s disturbing to hear in a world of increasing complexity and external shocks, where the need to grow as a leader has never been greater.

But it gives me a good feeling about the work we’re doing on something new.
Based on the response and conversations so far, it seems to meet a very real need.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗣𝘂𝘀𝗵 𝗨𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘄
Some work experiences fade over time. Others stay with us—not because of the tasks, but because of how they challenged us to grow.

Being back in Bucharest this week has already brought a series of rich and thought-provoking conversations—with more to come in the days ahead.

One of those conversations was with Marinela Tanase, someone I worked closely with during my time in Romania. Our work together gave me new perspectives—especially around strategic people development—and her way of challenging ideas helped sharpen my own thinking.

A growth mindset isn’t just about personal ambition—it’s about staying curious, seeking feedback, and being willing to grow through others.

As I prepare to return to Bucharest, reconnecting with former colleagues has reminded me of something key: growth happens when we’re surrounded by people who push us, challenge our thinking, and support us in becoming better.

A growth mindset isn’t just about personal ambition—it’s shaped by the environment we work in and the people we work with. Looking back, Bucharest was one of those places for me.

𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗸?

Walking through Buenos Aires' financial district, I couldn’t help but notice how banks have always built impressive domicilies or skyscrapers. Maybe to show power. Maybe to inspire trust. Maybe to make you feel small.

But no matter how strong the walls, no bank survives without trust. And history has shown how fragile that trust can be.

In banking, regulation steps in when trust fails. In leadership teams, there’s no external watchdog—either you build trust intentionally, or you suffer the consequences.

"𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁—𝗶𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵-𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺."

I’ve seen teams where lack of true vulnerability-based trust turned meetings into politics. Where fear of conflict led to silence instead of progress. And I’ve seen teams where trust unlocked honest dialogue, faster decisions, and better results.

The best teams invest in trust—because without it, everything else crumbles.

𝗕𝘂𝗻𝗮 𝘇𝗶𝘂𝗮, 𝗕𝘂𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶! 🇷🇴
It’s been too long! This April, I’m heading back to Bucharest—a city that became a second home while I lived and worked there from 2016-2018.

𝗦𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸—𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗶𝘁𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆.

This visit will be about reconnecting—both personally and professionally. Catching up with old friends and colleagues, meeting new faces, and reflecting on the leadership and team development work I’ve immersed myself in since my time here.

A lot of what I do today is helping leaders and leadership teams grow, evolve, and work better together—and Bucharest played a big role in shaping my own leadership journey. Looking back at these moments reminds me how much I’m looking forward to what’s ahead.
