🏆 WE DID IT – 2 SDG Tech Awards, including “Best Company” 🏆

Yesterday, Slow received two awards, one for “Food & Agrotech”, honoring our contribution to revolutionizing the global food and agricultural system, and another for “Best Company Solutions”, for our innovative approach to promote sustainable practices.

Now in their fifth year, the SDG Tech Awards are the largest sustainable awards in the Nordic countries, designed to reward trailblazers and thought leaders, who are shaping a sustainable future for all. With over 400 nominees and 40 finalists across nine categories, Slow was up against some of the very best.

Did you know that coffee is part of the family of flowering plants called Rubiaceae? Although thousands of species belong to this family, the coffee types we drink fall mainly within just two species – Arabica and Robusta. 🌳🍒

Arabica beans are frequently regarded as superior to Robusta because of their smooth and sweet flavour with hints of chocolate, fruits and berries. On the other hand, Robusta beans have a more intense, harsh, and bitter taste, with undertones of grain and rubber. The latter contains more caffeine and is mostly used in espresso drinks! 🍫🫐🫘☕

☕🌿 Three tips for climate-friendly coffee-making:

1. Reduce food waste: Brew only the amount of coffee you are going to drink. ☕

2. Save electricity and water: If you make a lot of coffee at once, switch off the coffee maker and pour the coffee into a thermos. Wash the coffee cups and coffee pot in a dishwasher only when the dishwasher is fully loaded. 💧🔌

3. Recycle: Compost the used coffee grounds or discard them into the bio waste bin. ♻️
