Last week, the TYPO3 Association participated in the eGovernance Conference in Tallinn, Estonia, represented by Mathias Lesniak, Stefan Busemann, and Kristian Storm-Jørgensen. Our primary objective was to introduce the TYPO3 Association’s sustainability initiative and our proposed implementation model created specifically for governments and public institutions, particularly those from the Global South.
TYPO3 CMS is an enterprise-level content management system well-suited for government and public-sector websites. We recently attained certification as a Digital Public Good (DPG). Some of the key benefits include:
1) Comprehensive multisite and multilingual capabilities.
2) Scalability for numerous users with diverse permission levels.
3) GDPR compliance and security standards.
4) GDP certified solution.
5) Open-source software without licensing fees.
TYPO3 Association have designed a structured model and process to facilitate projects, provide training, and build local capacity in implementing Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) web solutions. As part of our commitment, we also assist in finding project funding. With the projects, we focus on empowering local partners through training, enabling them to independently maintain and develop their digital platforms sustainably.
The conference was highly successful, drawing interest from representatives of governments, ministries, and public institutions from more than 15 countries, including Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Burundi, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Jordan, Italy, Kenya, Lithuania, South Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine, and Zimbabwe.
