Key findings included:

✅ Significantly faster healing times (17-20 days vs 25-30 days)
✅ Improved scar quality
✅ Lower complication rates (3.2% vs 12.5%)

Post-bariatric plastic surgery plays a crucial role for patients following significant weight loss. However, these procedures are often performed in high-tension areas, increasing the risk of wound dehiscence, infection, and hypertrophic scarring. This explores how non-invasive mechanical closure devices may help address these issues.

👣 What impact does negative pressure wound therapy with instillation and dwell time (NPWTi-d) have on the management of infected diabetic foot ulcers (DFU)?

A study in the latest issue of the Journal of Wound Management (JWM) explores this topic - and the results are promising!

DFUs pose a major burden to patients and healthcare systems alike. An estimated 85% of individuals with DFUS experience severe complications such as gangrene or infection, often resulting in amputation.

Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is more than a skin condition, it is a chronic, inflammatory disease that can present as an atypical wound.
