Christianshavn’s unique coloured houses and idyllic canals make it one of Copenhagen’s most picturesque districts.
In Christianshavn, you can stroll along cobbled streets along the canal, photograph colourful facades and check out charming houseboats. There are lots of cosy cafés (even floating ones) and restaurants. I recommend climbing the 90-meter-high tower of the Church of our Saviour and enjoying the view of Copenhagen.
Christianshavn is made up of several small islands. The neighbourhood is a real charmer, and the quays are ideal for exploring on foot, by bike, or even from the waterside. The small group of islands that make up Christianshavn is perhaps most famously known for Freetown Christiania, but Christianshavn is definitely worth visiting for many other reasons.
