Before you can migrate from SAP PI/PO, you must know where you are migrating from.
On a recent project, we found some challenges when the customer had Imported Archives both for the Function Libraries and for the Message Mappings for local UDF. The last one was a bit bigger problem.

We also improved the performance to be much faster and more gentle to the database. We went from 90 seconds to just 15.
We also resolved smaller issues for ICOs with wild card receivers.

Our migration capabilities to Integration Sute keep getting better.
I got some questions on an old blog about what was supported for migration and what was not. There were a number of the gaps defined 10 months ago that have now been closed.

In this post, we list the limitations we are aware of now and somehow can explain.

Figaf can now be installed on your PC.
With 2401 Figaf is now a PWA Progressive Web App. PWA is a way to allow shortcuts to the app and also keep the app in one frame.
Hopefully, this will make your life with Figaf a little easier.

How are you handling your SAP PI/PO transport?

The typical approach by creating a Directory transport. Get someone to take it over in the QA system, make the changes you have asked for, and then activate it.

There is a much faster way, as can see in the video.
In Figaf you can create the transport in advance and prepare and document all changes to the channel or systems.

How long does it take to migrate an ICO?

It depends.

You probably have a lot that does not cause problems and can be migrated in minutes.
On the other hand, you can use some functionality that makes it challenging to migrate.

On a call with a customer, we spend a lot of time trying to understand why a particular mapping would work. It has probably something to do with the usage of SAP PI-specific Libraries.
You don't get a lot of details about the error.

In Figaf we give warnings if you import something that is not standard. But it will require effort to figure out how to resolve the issues.
But it is, for now, a manual effort to find such cases and where the messages are used.
It is not something you will be able to find in your assessment or other places that such a problem exists.

One of the coolest features for your migration is our migration overview.
That is unless you like managing Excel sheets with different status for all the integration you are working on. And requiring all team members to keep track in their folders.
Here you can see what was migrated (even it SAPs migration Tool), when it was last changed and if it is production.
This is just something that makes your life easier.

Can our BPMN or ccBPM be migrated to Integration Suite?
The short answer is No.
I think ccBPM may be easier to automate the migration of. Given time and if there was a business case for it. But the two models and the content is just so much different that even the model could be preserved the mapping of content below it would be difficult.

The long answer is maybe sometime in the future Gen AI may be the resolution.

But I think then it would more be about creating iFlows not specific about feeding it with a BPMN model.

Do you migration of such cases would be advisable?

We are starting to get closer to release of 2401. Our first release in the new year.
One of the features that has have been required a lot is to test multiply iflows in one test cases.
It is now tested, so we just need to get the rest of the feature in.

Do you also have iflows that via ProcessDirect or JMS calls other iflows?

To successfully manage a SAP Integration Suite, you may need up to 10 different applications.

Some of these applications are supplied by SAP, while others are either from partners or open-source developers.

You will probably not need all ten tools now, but you will add one at a time as you start needing something for testing or alerting.

A long-awaited feature is coming to Cloud Integration Layout Beautifier.

If you wanted to add a new box to an iFlow you needed to move around many boxes. With this, it will be much easier to make it work.

From the examples shown, it looks pretty good.
