Hans Sandberg (1950-2016) takes a step forward onto the international Art Brut scene with a newly established collaboration with Henry Boxer - the founder of Henry Boxer Gallery in London.
Nine of Hans Sandberg’s works can now be found on the gallery's website among some of the best Art Brut artists.

“Henry Boxer has dealt in Outsider Art and Visionary Art since the 1970's. He specialises in the work of European Art Brut masters, including Adolf Wolfli, Edmund Monsiel, Scottie Wilson, Madge Gill and Johann Hauser. He also represents American artists Jon Sarkin, Justin Duerr, Malcolm McKesson, Joe Coleman, Alex Grey, Charles Benefiel and George Widener”.

Leaving for PARIS today for the OUTSIDER ART FAIR with the owners of the Hans Sandberg collection (Nina Hestbæk Petersen and Frans Petersen) to participate in the VIP & Press Preview on Thursday.
This is the first time Sandberg is exhibited abroad and we are so excited!
This in collaboration with Copenhagen Outsider Art Gallery who is represented at the fair.

I can't wait feasting my eyes on a plethora of Art Brut works on the Outsider Art Fair’ 10th Anniversary.

Når man træder ind i et sted båret af så høje ambitioner, så meget hjerterum og et brændende ønske om inkludere mennesker, der tidligere i vores samfund blev betragtet og følte sig som Outsidere - rammer det én i hjertet ❤

Bravo! Randers Kommune og alle menneskene omkring GAIA Museum Outsider Art for at skabe så omfattende og ambitiøst et museum.

I forbindelse med åbningen af vores særudstilling søndag havde jeg fornøjelsen af at spise en dejlig brunch i Café Gaia Papaya og fik en guidet tur på “Akademiet” og i rammefabrikken.

GAIA Museum (etableret i 2002) rummer, ud over en stor samling af dansk og international outsiderkunst, beskyttet beskæftigelse og aktivitets- og samværstilbud for mennesker med særlige behov samt et kunstakademi.

GAIA drives af professionelt personale i samarbejde med omkring 50 medarbejdere med særlige behov. Der er omkring 25 kunstnere og STU-elever, der arbejder med kunst på GAIA Akademi.

Visit Yesterday from the GAIA Museum (member of the European Outsider Art Association) who picked up more than 40 works by Hans Sandberg (1950-2016).

After two years of postponement,
we are really looking forward to opening the exhibition at the museum on April 30.

The photo shows, among others, two excellent workers from the museum staff.

Thrilled to receive the newest, brightly colored, neon art pieces by Hans Sandberg on a dull and rainy day like today in Copenhagen. 🤗

In Hans Sandberg's (1950-2016) artistic universe, we are invited right into the depths of a human mind. In an oversaturated picture space, Sandberg processed the world he experienced from childhood to death, which seemed far too violent and irreconcilable to deal with.

Sandberg suffered from schizophrenia and lived a secluded life. He lived for his art and tried to comprehend and unite with the world through his works. With the potential of art as a refuge from the intrusive throngs of thought, the pen and paint were his solace and place of comfort.

Tak til alle jer der dukkede op i går til åbningen af udstillingen med Art Brut kunstneren Hans Sandberg på Copenhagen Outsider Art Gallery - det var en forrygende dag med et flot salg af værker og spændende samtaler.
