What lies beneath the surface?

Many marine projects start with an underwater inspection.

Before repairs or construction can begin, it’s essential to understand the true condition below the waterline.

During an inspection we typically assess:

✔️ Steel, wood and concrete structures
✔️ Joints and bolts
✔️ Corrosion and wear
✔️ Cathodic protection
✔️ Foundations and piles

Using professional divers and ROV inspections, we document the structure and provide a clear basis for the next steps.

Most people walk right past them 🪜❗️

But the day someone falls into the water, they suddenly become the most important equipment there is.

We’ve helped install and renovate rescue ladders along harbour fronts across Denmark. Some jobs are about giving old ladders new life. Others are about making sure new waterfronts are safe from day one.

Either way, the mission stays the same:

A safe and visible way back up. Always.

🔩 Fabricated & installed by us from start to finish.

When water levels rise, infrastructure must keep up 🌊

We are currently working on two steel projects in Kolding, helping strengthen existing structures and protect the area against high water levels.

Our teams are contributing to a new flood protection system with sheet pile installation, underwater work around new sluice gates, and raising the quay edge by about one metre.

At the same time, we are stabilising an existing d**e by installing custom brackets between new and existing sheet pile walls.

The video offers a small glimpse into the craftsmanship and teamwork behind the work.

We are proud to have been awarded the contract for repair and diving services at Esbjerg Port ⚓

Over the past decades the port has developed into a global hub for renewable energy and is today the world’s leading port for shipping offshore wind components.

As part of the agreement, we will establish a local base in Esbjerg with our diving vessel Seaworker, supporting maintenance, repairs and future development projects.

We look forward to the collaboration and to becoming an active part of the maritime environment in Esbjerg.

When the vessel’s rudder is damaged, rapid response is key.

Last Saturday, we were called in after a vessel discovered a crack in its rudder. With short notice, we mobilised a welding team, equipment along with one of our fully equipped service units, to ensure the issue was addressed without delay.

The crack was welded, and a doubler plate was subsequently installed to reinforce the structure and restore its strength.

The sooner damage is addressed, the lower the risk of secondary damage and operational disruption.

We are ready when it matters - delivering solutions built to last.

Did you know that we have expanded our service portfolio and now also offer steel fabrication above water?

A different kind of apprenticeship 🤿

Last Saturday, we took part in an open house event at Svendborg Erhvervsskole & Gymnasier, where we had the pleasure of bringing along one of our converted diving trucks. The aim was to give visitors an insight into how a trade certificate can be used in several and perhaps more unconventional ways than one might initially imagine 🪛

We currently employ a metalworking apprentice who dreams of becoming an underwater welder. In this case, a trade certificate provides a strong foundation, as it makes it possible to transfer knowledge and practical experience from above water to the complex tasks carried out below the surface.

At Nordic Marine Service, several of our employees hold a trade certificate, and they make daily use of their professional skills and skilled hands both above and below the sea surface. Our diving trucks function as mobile workshops, enabling cutting and welding work to be carried out both above and underwater.

At the same time, our metalworkers in the workshop produce components and structures that can later be installed beneath the surface.

Thank you to Svendborg Erhvervsskole & Gymnasier for the invitation. It is always a pleasure to come out and talk with young people. 🙌🏻

The Year of 2025 🤿

2025 has been a year of growth, strong collaboration, and exciting projects, both above and below the waterline.

We expanded our team, strengthened our capabilities, and delivered complex projects across Denmark. From commercial diving and underwater works to steel fabrication and port infrastructure, 2025 showcased the strength of our multidisciplinary approach.

Key highlights included major renovations, large-scale inspections, steel and underwater works in active harbours, and contributions to some of Denmark’s most significant infrastructure projects.

Commercial diving remains at the core of what we do, now complemented by a growing steel fabrication department – creating strong synergy, greater flexibility, and high-quality deliveries.

We proudly ended the year with the Gazelle Award 2025. A recognition of our growth and, most importantly, our dedicated team.

Thank you to our employees, clients, and partners for a strong 2025.

We look forward to new projects and continued collaboration in the year ahead.

Meet our new employee

Allan Brill is our new workshop manager at our Kolding location. Despite being only 44 years old, he has 28 years of experience in the industry, making him highly qualified for the position. For the past 12 years, Allan has worked as a project manager, within production, and purchasing manager, and has gained extensive knowledge of the industry. His experience as a welder led him to work on various projects across Europe for eight years. Additionally, he has served as a supervisor, installing stainless steel tanks and piping systems for both the dairy and pharmaceutical industries.

Allan’s primary focus will be managing the workshop’s operations, maintenance, staff, and procurement. He will ensure close communication with our customers and oversee the processes. As the quality manager, he will also be responsible for ensuring strict compliance with our upcoming 1090 standards.

We look forward to a successful collaboration and are pleased to welcome Allan on board.
