Year after year, we see how rising temperatures can cause challenges in pig production. That's why we've gathered a few practical tips to avoid heat stress 💡

1. Ensure good ventilation and cooling system
2. Provide sufficient amounts of clean and cool water (check the water flow at each vessel)
3. Minimise activities during the hottest period of the day
4. Focus on the nutrients and feed composition
5. Choose robust animals for your herd

More robust piglets start with a sow that can care for her litter 💪

Strong maternal traits have always been a natural characteristic of both DanBred Landrace and DanBred Yorkshire.

Now, new results from the breeding nucleus show that since 2022, DanBred Landrace sows have improved their ability to rear piglets to day 21 by 1.5 piglets, and DanBred Yorkshire sows have improved their ability by 1 piglet.

Behind this development are strong maternal traits, milk production, and piglet survival - traits that together contribute to producing more strong and healthy pigs at weaning 🐷

On 14 July 2026, our valuable partner PT Sulawesi Optima Wirakarya marked the successful export of 546 purebred DanBred pigs from Denmark to Indonesia at a launch event 👏🐷

It was great to see so many local and international key industry partners at this excellent event. It really demonstrated the shared commitment to strengthening collaboration, knowledge exchange, and the future development of pig production in Indonesia 🤝

This export was a significant step towards strengthening pig production in Indonesia. And we're so thankful for this valuable partnership!
