“Vi kommunikerer jo hele tiden”. Så hvorfor oplever I stadig, at aftaler skrider, ansvar bliver uklart, og at opfølgning glipper?

Mange ledere oplever, at kommunikationen i deres teams flyder frit og uden problemer.
Alligevel går aftaler tabt, og overleveringer er mangelfulde.
Feedback kommer ofte først, når deadlinen er ved at skride, og panikken for alvor kan mærkes.
Eksempler på organisatoriske udfordringer som disse opstår sjældent på baggrund af manglende kommunikation eller kompetencer.
De opstår oftest på baggrund af andre årsager såsom mangel på tid og ressourcer.
For nogle uger siden afholdt vi et kursus for en stor ledergruppe i et større dansk pengeinstitut, hvor det klassiske kursuslokale var skiftet ud med stranden i Helsingør.
Vi udfordrede og trænede lederne i temaerne kommunikation, aftaler, leverancer og i at anvende kundens eget feedback-værktøj.
På kurset arbejdede deltagerne med forskellige simuleringer af hverdagssituationer.
Simuleringerne involverede flere af de dilemmaer og udfordringer, som mange ledere og teams møder i hverdagen hjemme på kontoret:
🤯 “Jeg troede, vi havde en aftale.”
😬 “Det var ikke sådan, jeg forstod opgaven.”
🙄 “Hvorfor var der ingen, der fortalte mig, jeg var på vej i den gale retning?”
Øvelserne viste et klart billede af, hvor hurtigt små misforståelser kan vokse sig store i pressede situationer, og lederne kunne hurtigt genkende mange af udfordringerne fra deres egen hverdag.
Efter øvelserne fik deltagerne mulighed for at reflektere over, hvad de som ledere fremadrettet kan gøre anderledes i deres daglige ledelsespraksis.
Det indebar refleksioner og læringer såsom:
God kommunikation handler om at skabe nære relationer og tætte samarbejder mellem kolleger og teams.
Klare og tydelige aftaler er et ‘must’.
Feedback skal gives løbende.
Som leder er det dit job at skabe en fælles forståelse for teamets mål og prioriteringer.

“We communicate all the time.” So why do agreements still fall apart, responsibilities become unclear, and follow-up gets lost?
Many leaders experience that communication within their teams flows freely and without major issues.
Yet agreements are forgotten, handovers become unclear, and feedback often arrives only when deadlines are approaching and the pressure starts to build.
Organisational challenges like these rarely arise because of a lack of communication or competencies.
More often, they stem from other factors such as limited time, competing priorities and lack of resources.
A few weeks ago, we facilitated a workshop for a large leadership group from a major Danish financial institution, where the traditional meeting room was replaced by the beach in Helsingør.
During the day, the leaders were challenged and trained in themes such as communication, agreements, deliveries and the use of the company’s own feedback tool.
Throughout the workshop, participants worked with simulations based on everyday workplace situations.
The simulations reflected several of the dilemmas and challenges that many leaders and teams encounter in their daily work:
🤯 “I thought we had an agreement.”
😬 “That’s not how I understood the task.”
🙄 “Why didn’t anyone tell me I was heading in the wrong direction?”
The exercises clearly illustrated how quickly small misunderstandings can escalate in high-pressure situations. Many of the leaders quickly recognised the challenges from their own everyday work.
After the exercises, participants were given time to reflect on what they, as leaders, could do differently in their own leadership practice moving forward.
The reflections and learnings included insights such as:
Strong communication is built on close relationships and strong collaboration between colleagues and teams.
Clear and explicit agreements are essential.
Feedback should be given continuously.
And as a leader, it is your responsibility to create a shared understanding of the team’s goals and priorities.
