When former Houston Oiler Robert "Bobby" Lyles arrived at Baylor St. Luke's Medical Center in the summer of 2022, he was in heart failure to the point where other organs were failing and he could not breathe on his own. Thanks to Baylor St. Luke's expert heart team, Bobby was eventually stabilized to the point where he received a lifesaving left ventricular assist device (LVAD).
For most of his life, 62-year-old Robert "Bobby" Lyles was the picture of health. The former NFL linebacker completed a successful career playing for the Houston Oilers and Atlanta Falcons and went on to hold several coaching positions.
