10JUN26 "The United States recognizes Ecuador as a strategic ally in the fight against drug trafficking, including smuggling chemical precursors.

That's why the chose Ecuador as the headquarters of the Latin American Chemical Workshop in Quito. The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Embassy and Consulate of the United States in Ecuador, Lawrence Petroni,

participated together with authorities from 12 countries in the region to promote cooperation and exchange of international intelligence.

During the meeting, he emphasized: "Chemical precursors and emerging synthetic substances have become the backbone of modern drug production.

When we align our strategies, we close the gaps on which criminal organizations depend.

“Every step we take toward stricter chemical control, better coordination, and deeper collaboration directly impacts the safety and well-being of our communities.”

08MAY26 ⛪️ 💒🚈🚇 ☠️💀
⚔️🛡️Tunnels🚊
"Below the Historic Center of Quito lies one of the city's oldest and persistent rumors: the alleged network of colonial underground tunnels.

There have always been accounts of people who claim that under churches, convents and historic buildings there would be hidden passageways built centuries ago.

Some stories speak of connections between religious conventions.
Others mention tunnels used to move valuables, escape during conflicts or even hold secret meetings.

The rumor grew especially around places such as the Church of San Francisco, Santo Domingo and old sectors of the colonial center.

Although there are actual underground structures in certain historical areas of Quito, many of the most mysterious stories have never been officially checked.

And maybe that's why.... the legend lives on.

Because under one of the oldest cities in South America... there's still much we don't fully know.

👉 Do you think Quito really hides secret tunnels under his streets?"

https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1NAxBjmciU/?mibextid=wwXIfr

"The Restaurant Confederation of Ecuador, which groups 1,000 restaurants, bars and gastropubs in the country, warns of the negative effects generated by the curfew that rules the country until May 18, 2026.

Its president, Diego Vivero, projects losses of 40%, on average, in the entire sector operating in the nine provinces and four corners where the curfew is applied.

"There will be restaurants, bars and gastropubs that will not have the greatest impact, but others that will feel losses up to 100%," the union leader told the Primicias media.

Warning that these latter may be forced to lay off some of their employees, because if there are no sales, they will not be able to sustain jobs.

"There have already been losses with the March curfew and restrictions are following," he notes.

Vivero expects the Government to analyze the economic consequences generated by the implementation of restrictive measures and that they "listen to us before making a decision like this."

"As the US goes, so goes the entire World!" - That phrase is, used to describe the United States' influence on global trends, particularly in three areas:

The Economy: Because the U.S. dollar is the world's primary reserve currency, 'a sneeze on Wall Street often results in a cold for the rest of the globe'

Cultural Export: From Hollywood movies and Silicon Valley tech to social movements, American cultural shifts tend to ripple across borders rapidly. Geopolitics: U.S. foreign policy and military stances often set the tone for international alliances and global stability.

While many still see the U.S. as the "world's bellwether," some argue that as the world becomes more multipolar

(with the rise of powers like the EU, China, and India), the saying might not hold as much weight as it once did. Do you think this sentiment still holds true today, or is the global influence shifting elsewhere?" - Sr Googley🤖

Federal debt now tops 100% of gross domestic product, a potent symbol of the gathering fiscal stresses on the U.S. that have been building for decades. It's on the way toward breaking the record set in the wake of World War II.

As of March 31, the country’s publicly held debt was $31.265 trillion, while GDP over the preceding year was $31.216 trillion, according to data released Thursday. That puts the ratio at 100.2%, compared with 99.5% when the last fiscal year ended Sept. 30.

That figure will likely climb for the foreseeable future because the federal government is running historically large annual deficits of nearly 6% of GDP, which add to the debt.

The government is spending $1.33 for every dollar it collects in revenue, and the budget deficit this year is projected at $1.9 trillion. That is little changed from 2025 as Republicans’ tax cuts kick in before their spending cuts take effect.

The final tally will depend on Iran war spending, tariff refunds and the strength of the economy.

26APR26 'Architects are going to hate this- 🏘️ "Someone just open sourced a full 3D building editor that runs entirely in your browser.

No AutoCAD. No Revit. No $5,000/year licenses.

It's called Pascal Editor.

Built with React Three Fiber and WebGPU -- meaning it renders directly on your GPU at near-native speed.

Here's what's inside this thing:

→ A full building/level/wall/zone hierarchy you can edit in real time
→ An ECS-style architecture where every object updates through GPU-powered systems
→ Zustand state management with full undo/redo built in
→ Next.js frontend so it deploys as a web app, not a desktop install
→ Dirty node tracking -- only re-renders what changed, not the whole scene

Here's the wildest part:

You can stack, explode, or solo individual building levels. Select a zone, drag a wall, reshape a slab -- all in 3D, all in the browser.

Architecture firms pay $50K+ per seat for BIM software that does this workflow."
