SUN 27SEP26🚁"The National Assembly approved the new Civil Aviation Organic Law, which for the first time regulates the operation of drones in Ecuador. The regulation requires mandatory registration of all equipment with the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) and identification through a QR code. The legal body establishes tiered economic sanctions ranging from USD 1,446 for minor violations (such as flying without registration)

to USD 9,640 for serious violations (such as operating in restricted areas without permission), and reaching USD 14,460 for very serious violations, such as flying near airports or over forest fire zones. 📍 La Asamblea Nacional aprobó la nueva Ley Orgánica de Aviación Civil, la cual regula por primera vez la operación de drones en Ecuador. La normativa exige el registro obligatorio de todos los equipos ante la Dirección General de Aviación Civil (DGAC) y la identificación mediante un código QR. El cuerpo legal establece sanciones económicas escalonadas que van desde USD 1.446 por faltas leves (como volar sin registro), hasta USD 9.640 por faltas graves (como operar en zonas restringidas sin permiso), y alcanzan los USD 14.460 por infracciones muy graves, como realizar vuelos en las cercanías de aeropuertos o sobre zonas de incendios forestales.

Students bow in respect to the national anthem - Ecuador commemorates today, September 26, 2026, the National Flag Day, a civic and historical date that highlights the importance of this patriotic symbol. That is why, every year, educational institutions pay homage with the traditional "Oath to the Flag," in ceremonies where third-year high school students are the protagonists.

Yesterday, Friday, in ceremonies, the flag bearers, flag carriers, and escorts, chosen among the students with the best academic performance, were proclaimed. A "yes, I swear" of respect to the flag, said the students bowing in front of the National Pavilion, before kissing it.

Those who did not participate in the Flag Oath ceremony yesterday, Friday, can do so on Monday, September 28, 2026, by authorization from the Ministry of Education. A total of 261,699 third-year high school students participate in the Flag Oath in Ecuador in 2026." -

"Ecuador enters the period of dry with less water to generate electricity and a demand that grows above the forecast. The flows that supply the main hydroelectric plants already register lower levels than usual, just when the period of less rainfall begins.
