River People is owned and run by a river-loving family who moved to Ecuador from Ireland over 20 years ago. They have some of the most experienced guides in the country and are fluent in Spanish and English. River People also runs the largest number of rivers in the Tena area. Our family moved to Ecuador in 1993 and fell in love with the rivers around Tena. In 2002, after working for the only raft company in the area (which had just been sold) we started River People. We’ve run every river in the immediate area and many others throughout Ecuador.

Just when we thought the river couldn’t offer more, it led us to a secluded jungle campsite. 🎒⛺ Hiking and laughing with guides Victor, Pancho, and Byron added a layer of camaraderie in the wild. My girlfriend, trying camping for the first time, found a new love for the wilderness despite some mosquito challenges – proof that adventure transforms! 🏞️✨

🌳✨ Jungle trekking with the River People was like stepping into a different world. Rain gave way to adventure, leading us to magical swimming holes and muddy pathways only jungle books could describe. We explored caves, indulged in local culture, and swam like Mogli under waterfall sprays.
