What makes a Saare a Saare?

A new interview with our yacht designer Karl-Johan “Kamu” Stråhlmann on No Frills Sailing gives some fascinating insights into the thinking behind our yachts.

One sentence particularly caught our attention:

“Saare is a series boat, but with a strong one-off character with lots of individualizations possible.”

That is exactly what we believe makes Saare special.

We build a range of proven yacht models, but every yacht is individually planned with its owner. Experienced sailors often know exactly what they want – and we work closely with them to turn those ideas into reality.

From interior layouts and wood finishes to storage solutions, Targa arches, doghouses, sprayhoods and many other details, there are numerous ways to make a Saare truly your own.

The result is a yacht that combines the advantages of a proven series design with the character of a one-off yacht.

Performance made easy. ⛵

Today, most Saare Yachts are equipped with a Code Zero.

Of course, a gennaker or even a symmetrical spinnaker remains an option, depending on the owner’s preferences. However, for many sailors, the Code Zero has become the perfect all-round downwind and reaching sail.

Its advantages include:
• Excellent performance in light winds
• Easy furling and unfurling
• Comfortable short-handed sailing
• Fast, safe and simple handling
• Ideal for long-distance cruising
• More sailing time, less engine time

Die meisten Saare Yachten werden heute mit einem Code Zero ausgeliefert.

Natürlich bleiben ein Gennaker oder auch ein Spinnaker weiterhin eine Option. Viele Eigner entscheiden sich jedoch für den Code Zero, da er sich besonders einfach bedienen lässt und gerade beim Segeln zu zweit oder auch allein viele Vorteile bietet.

Smart, watertight storage for real cruising ⛵

On the Saare 38.2 (also available on the 41.2 and 47), we feature a large watertight sail locker / storage compartment.

The 60 x 60 cm hatch provides easy access to a surprisingly spacious area, designed for practical cruising use. Typical storage includes:
• gennaker or sails
• dinghy
• generator
• folding bikes
• additional equipment for long passages

Inside, there is enough space to move around and stow gear efficiently — keeping everything dry, secure and easily accessible at sea.

Thoughtful design for real sailing.

Durchdachter, wasserdichter Stauraum für echtes Fahrtensegeln ⛵

Auf der Saare 38.2 (sowie auch auf der 41.2 und 47) gibt es einen großzügigen wasserdichten Segel- und Stauraum.

Über die 60 x 60 cm große Luke gelangt man in einen überraschend geräumigen Bereich, der speziell für den praktischen Bordalltag und lange Reisen ausgelegt ist. Typische Stauinhalte sind:
• Gennaker oder Segel
• Dinghy
• Generator
• Klappräder
• zusätzliche Ausrüstung für lange Törns

Im Inneren hat man ausreichend Platz, um sich zu bewegen und die Ausrüstung sinnvoll zu verstauen — trocken, sicher und gut erreichbar.

A perfect evening in Norway ⛵☀️

Our customer aboard the Saare 38.2 “Ananda Dve” sent us these wonderful photos from Nusfjord.

As he wrote:

“The new berth is in Nusfjord, the smallest harbour I know. There is only room for two sailing yachts. And the evening sun is fantastic.”

These are exactly the moments many dreams of sailing are made of: beautiful scenery, peaceful anchorages and unforgettable evenings on board.

Ein perfekter Abend in Norwegen ⛵☀️

Unser Kunde mit der Saare 38.2 „Ananda Dve“ hat uns diese wunderschönen Bilder aus Nusfjord geschickt.

“Der neue Liegeplatz ist im Nusfjord, der kleinste Hafen, den ich kenne. Nur Platz für zwei Segelyachten. Und tolle Abendsonne.”

Another Saare delivery this week ⛵

A new Saare 41.2 is being handed over to her owners in Estonia — featuring a newly designed fixed doghouse.

As every Saare, she has been individually built for her future owners, carefully tailored to their wishes, sailing style and intended use.

It is always a special moment for us to welcome new owners into the Saare family, which continues to grow with every yacht delivered.

Eine Saare 41.2 wird in Estland an ihre Eigner übergeben — erstmals mit einem festen Doghouse in dieser Konfiguration.

Wie jede Saare wurde auch diese Yacht individuell für ihre zukünftigen Eigner gebaut und genau auf ihre Wünsche, ihren Segelstil und ihre geplante Nutzung abgestimmt.
