We are excited to have planned the local representative workshop on entrepreneurship in the raw material sector funded by the EIT RawMaterials Alumni Join us in Tallinn or Online and be a part of exploring and encouraging sustainable entrepreneurship in the raw materials industry. The workshop targets sustainable entrepreneurship. The training will provide information on how to use knowledge from different fields to contribute toward sustainable entrepreneurship in the raw materials sector. The workshops will encourage entrepreneurial mindsets among students and bridge the gap between other disciplines, thus creating awareness of the importance of the connection between these fields in contributing toward a sustainable raw materials industry.

Emma Kocik will present at the 3rd GES this Thursday under the Information Technology panel.

She will present on “Building bridges across Cyber-gaps. Security in the modern world”

Emma Kociks journey into Cyber security started back in 2006. Since then she was watching threat landscape changing and working towards better, more secure internet. She graduated Cybersecurity and information Security studies at Universities in both Poland and the UK. Pre-COVID she travelled to 55 countries connecting with local Cybersecurity communities and speaking at cyber events around the world. She’s now working in England for Managed Cybersecurity Services Provider- MAS SOC Analyst role as well as consulting Information Governance and Cybersecurity matters.

Mr Alex Malapane will be giving a keynote address at the 3rd GES.

He will present on “ Tracking the Future: The Fourth Industrial Revolution”

Mr Malapane is the general chair for the 4IR Indaba Convention and a Manager for Research Projects & Strategic Partnerships at the South African Weather Service.
He serves in several high level panels, boards, academia, directorships including board chairmanship at Zarfro Group International. Alex was rated in the Top 50 of global thought leaders and influencers for risk and change management in 2019. In the same year, Alex discovered a new data analytic technique which was presented and accepted at the IEEE systems Information and Engineering Design Symposium at University of Virginia.

He is a researcher and co-authored more than 20 peer-reviewed papers published internationally. Academically, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Earth Science: Mine Surveying, B-Tech in Project Management, Postgraduate Diploma in Management as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Alex is currently pursuing a Doctoral Degree (PhD) in Economic and Management Sciences at the Northwest University where his research focuses on development of framework for eCommerce in South Africa.

Fardis Nakhaei will be presenting at the 3rd GES under the Chemical and Process Engineering panel. He is a post-do tell researcher at the Northwest University in South Africa. He obtained a PhD degree in mineral processing from Amirkair University of Technology in Iran. He has a solid background in mineral processing with more than 10 years industrial and academic experience. He has coordinated and conducted successful industrial surveys in most recognized mine sites such as copper,iron,coal and magnesite.

Ms Rebecca is a young, talented and highly motivated lady who has an unflinching desire for problem solving. She completed Knust in the year 2015 as a Metallurgical Engineer. She holds an MSc. In Sustainable Mining & Remediation Management from the TuBaF. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Alberta, Canada.

Bruno Grafe will be presenting at the 3rd GES under the Mining and Metallurgy panel.

Bruno has worked for 5 years as a scientific employee and project manager in the fields of international mining education and rock cutting research. During this time, he developed a deeper interest in Mapping and understanding the forces during rock cutting, which led to his PhD topic. Since 2020, he works for the Mining Authority in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt and is responsible for the biggest German potash mine, Zielitz.
