We recently hosted director and cellist Lukas Stasevskij at our studios to work on his upcoming documentary, ‘My Ukrainian Rhapsody’.
The film has a profound personal background. It follows Lukas’s journey to explore his Ukrainian roots and self-identity. Having moved to Finland as a child, he relocated to Kyiv in 2021 to study filmmaking. When the war began, he chose to stay and document his experiences, touching many by playing his cello amidst the ruins to show that Ukrainian culture is still alive.
During his time at our studio, we recorded his cello performances and voiceovers for the film. Sound Engineer Andres Nolvak and Post Production Supervisor Uku Toomet managed the sessions, and the audio captured with our top microphone setup delivered excellent results.
We appreciate the positive feedback from Lukas and main producer Tero Tamminen (East Films) regarding our studio and our work. Following this strong start, we are currently laying the groundwork to take on the film’s post-production, including color grading and final deliverables.
It is great to be involved in this a deeply personal Finnish-Estonian co-production alongside Estonian co-producer Ülo Pikkov (Silmviburlane) and DOP Ivar Heinmaa.
We are doing our best to help bring this story to screens.
