"You genuinely cannot tell there's solar up there."

That was Tareq Taylor and Sofia Ståhl's reaction the first time they saw their finished roof.

Swedish chef Tareq Taylor and wellness coach Sofia Ståhl chose Roofit.Solar for their new home in the Stockholm archipelago, part of their build-your-own-home series airing on Kanal 5 and HBO.

Tareq shared his thoughts on the decision: "Installing a solar roof on our new home was an easy decision for us as a family. It's a solution that fits both our values and our lifestyle."

Watch the full video below to see the reaction to the finished solar roof for the first time and hear why they picked a building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) solution instead of a traditional bolt-on solar panel system.

Tomorrow, on 20 August, Estonia celebrates the 35th anniversary of the restoration of its independence.

We celebrate it the way we know best, by looking up. .solar started here, in Tallinn, and some of our proudest work is still standing on Estonian roofs.

Every product we now sell in more than 30 countries was created and installed on a roof here first.

Here are a few of our favourite Estonian projects, for the occasion.

What does it actually take to turn a good idea into a global business?

Greg Grace, our Chief Growth Officer and Board Member of AmCham Estonia, will be speaking at the international conference – Women Shaping the Future 2026, in Tallinn.

Greg will join the session "From Idea to Global Impact — Cleantech & Advanced Engineering," talking about what it actually takes to grow a cleantech idea into an international business: scaling across borders, building the right partnerships, and getting sustainability to hold up as a real competitive advantage.

26-27 August, Tallinn.
Welcome Evening & Global Networking: 26 August, J. Poska House, Kadriorg
Conference Day: 27 August

If you're attending, find and connect with Greg.

Revholmen Operational Headquarters in Norway. A few numbers worth knowing.

78.26 kWp total installed power, across 590 m² of integrated solar roof and facade. Estimated annual production: 68,400 kWh. Actual March 2025 output: 20% above that estimate.

The building sits on a peninsula that used to be a ferry stop. The architect, Hysj Arkitekter, shaped the roofline to mirror the rocky outcrop directly behind it, which means zero right angles across a structure over 50 meters long. Every string cable was mapped individually. Every panel fitted and checked before the next one followed.

The coastal exposure meant solving corrosion before anything else. Norway's coastline runs over 3,000 km of salt-heavy marine environment. The team at Solar Solution tested Colorcoat Prisma® by TATA Steel, rated for corrosion class C5+, a material normally used outside the solar industry, and it passed.

Installation started September 2024. The system was live by December 2024. Around 500 hours of physical work on site.

Installed by Ecosol AS. Delivered by our partner Solar Solution AS.

A precedent-setting moment for solar in historic city centers.

For the first time, Salzburg's Old Town Preservation Commission has approved a fully integrated photovoltaic roof in the historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where no photovoltaic solution had previously received approval.

The project, developed by Strobl Architekten together with Roofit.Solar, uses our iron-grey "2-in-1" solar roof modules to replace a roof that hadn't been renewed in 60 years, while fully preserving the look of a traditional standing-seam metal roof ("Falzdach").

• 330 m² of roof surface
• 28.5 kWp installed capacity
• 60 years since the last roof renewal
• First PV approval of its kind in Salzburg's protected Old Town

Because the roof was considered the building's "second most important facade," visible from viewpoints across the city, the commission required an especially high aesthetic bar. It took a long, close dialogue between the architects and the commission to get there.

As our CEO Andres Anijalg puts it: "We wanted to create new design possibilities for buildings where conventional black solar modules aren't suitable, due to regulations, aesthetics, or heritage protection. This project proves that solar energy and monument preservation can go hand in hand."

Project executed by NIMMERVOLL-2 Dach GmbH-2.

Don’t forget to register for our upcoming CPD session for architects with Paul Iddon this Tuesday, 7 July at 12:30.

Hosted by Roofit.Solar team together with Paul Iddon, this free 60-minute session covers the key differences between BIPV and traditional PV systems, how to specify solar roofs that meet UK building regs and fire safety requirements without compromising on design (with real European & UK project examples), and a live Q&A tailored to your project needs.

If you're an architect or specifier, this one's worth attending.
