برعاية وتشريف فخامة الرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسي، رئيس الجمهورية، تنطلق غدًا الإثنين بالعاصمة الجديدة فعاليات منتدى مصر الخامس للتعدين، الذي تنظمه وزارة البترول والثروة المعدنية يومي 28 و29 سبتمبر الجاري، في أكبر نسخة للمنتدى منذ انطلاقه، تحت شعار «إطلاق الإمكانات الاستكشافية لمصر والدرع العربي النوبي».

ويشهد افتتاح المنتدى كلمة للمهندس كريم بدوي، وزير البترول والثروة المعدنية، إلى جانب كلمات رئيسية لعدد من رؤساء كبريات شركات ومنظمات التعدين العالمية، في ظل مشاركة استثمارية واسعة تضم كبار مستثمري وشركات التعدين المصرية والعربية والعالمية، فضلًا عن وزراء ومسؤولي التعدين من عدد من الدول العربية والإفريقية.

وأكد المهندس كريم بدوي أن المنتدى يمثل منصة دولية لاستعراض الفرص الاستثمارية الواعدة في قطاع التعدين المصري، والترويج للإمكانات التعدينية التي تزخر بها مصر والدرع العربي النوبي، مشيرًا إلى أن ما شهدته الفترة الماضية من إصلاحات وإجراءات بتكليف من فخامة الرئيس عبدالفتاح السيسي يستهدف تهيئة مناخ أكثر جذبًا للاستثمار في البحث والاستكشاف عن المعادن واستغلالها، إلى جانب تشجيع إقامة صناعات تحويلية تعظم القيمة المضافة للخامات التعدينية وتدعم فرص العمل والصادرات.

وأوضح الوزير أن هذه الإجراءات تؤسس لمرحلة جديدة في قطاع التعدين المصري، وتعزز قدرته على جذب الاستثمارات وتنمية أعمال البحث والاستكشاف والإنتاج، وهو ما انعكس في تنامي اهتمام الشركات العالمية بالفرص المتاحة في مصر، وزيادة الإقبال على المشاركة في أعمال المنتدى.

وأشار الوزير إلى أن اليوم الثاني للمنتدى سيشهد مائدة مستديرة برئاسة الدكتور مصطفى مدبولي، رئيس مجلس الوزراء، مع عدد من كبار مستثمري وشركات التعدين، لبحث فرص الاستثمار المتاحة في القطاع، وتعزيز الشراكات مع المستثمرين، ودعم التنسيق بين مختلف الجهات المعنية بما يسهم في جذب الاستثمارات اللازمة وتعظيم الاستفادة من الثروات التعدينية المصرية.

وأضاف أن المنتدى سيشهد كذلك الإعلان عن نتائج طرح الفرص الاستثمارية التي أتاحتها هيئة الثروة المعدنية والصناعات التعدينية في يونيو الماضي بنظام القطاعات المفتوحة للبحث والاستكشاف عن الذهب والفوسفات والتلك والكاولين، في إطار تطوير آليات طرح المناطق التعدينية وتيسير إجراءات إسنادها للمستثمرين، بما يدعم سرعة بدء أعمال البحث والاستكشاف ورفع كفاءة استغلال الثروات التعدينية.

وقبيل انطلاق فعاليات المنتدى، يعقد المهندس كريم بدوي، وزير البترول والثروة المعدنية، ظهر اليوم اجتماع المائدة المستديرة رفيعة المستوى لمجموعة استراتيجية المعادن الإفريقية (AMSG)، بمشاركة عدد من وزراء التعدين الأفارقة قيادات ومسؤولي التعدين بدول القارة والشركات والمستثمرين، لبحث سبل تعزيز التعاون والشراكة بين الحكومات والمستثمرين بما يضمن الاستغلال الأمثل للموارد التعدينية وتسريع وتيرة النمو بقطاع التعدين وتوفير المتطلبات التي تهييء المناخ الاستثماري الجاذب.

وتتناول المناقشات تطوير النشاط التعديني بمختلف مراحله، بدءًا من الدراسات والبحث والاستكشاف، مرورًا بالإنتاج واستغلال الخامات، وصولًا إلى إقامة الصناعات التي تعظم قيمتها المضافة، في ضوء ما يمثله قطاع التعدين من أهمية متزايدة في اقتصادات الدول الإفريقية، ودوره في دعم التنمية وجذب الاستثمارات وتعزيز سلاسل القيمة المرتبطة بالثروات المعدنية.

Core doesn’t just show us the grade; it shows us the geology behind it.

RC drilling is fast, efficient, and extremely valuable for exploration. But as a project moves toward resource confidence and feasibility, diamond drilling becomes increasingly important.

An intact core allows geologists to directly study structure, vein orientation, alteration, lithological contacts, rock quality, density, and geotechnical conditions, as the information that assay numbers alone cannot fully explain.

In simple terms, the RC can help define where the mineralization is. Diamond core helps us understand how the mineralized system is built.

And that understanding can make a major difference when developing the geological model and reducing uncertainty before mine design and feasibility studies.

A question for exploration professionals: at what stage do you believe a project should transition from predominantly RC drilling to a stronger diamond drilling program?

From exploration to production, every stage of a mining project is a process of reducing uncertainty before committing more capital.

The AMEC Mine Cycle clearly shows that mineralization alone does not make a mine. Geological continuity, technical viability, economic value, and disciplined decision-making must all be progressively demonstrated.

AMEC also cites an “at best” 1-in-300 conversion rate from exploration to mining development, highlighting how selective this journey really is.

Good geology finds the opportunity. Good studies define it. Good decisions turn it into a mine.
