The “Digital Trade and E-Commerce in the MENA Region” initiative is launched in Egypt

Aiming to develop e-commerce and digital trade in the MENA region, to enhance business opportunities and to foster decent job creation through close cooperation between public and private stakeholders.

Egypt has a dynamic digital trade ecosystem, showcasing the country’s ongoing efforts to advance e-commerce and support businesses in expanding into international markets.

Co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), implemented jointly by GIZ and the International Trade Centre (ITC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and national partners.

🌍 Africa’s Waste Management Market on the Rise

Africa’s waste management market is valued at USD 21.7 billion in 2025, and is expected to grow at nearly 5% annually through 2033 — driven by rapid urbanization, stricter environmental regulations, and the growing adoption of recycling and waste-to-energy solutions.

Against this dynamic backdrop, RETech Partnership e.V. is supporting the “Africa Meets IFAT” Networking Event, organized by VDMA and UNIDO ITPO Germany.

🤝 The event will bring together industry leaders and government representatives from across Africa to exchange insights and explore new cooperation opportunities.

What started as a conversation about AI… quickly turned into something bigger.

Back in September 2025, we kicked off our first AI workshop during the Alumni Networking Event of Partunring in Business with Germany programme of BMWE exploring a full journey from branding and creative production all the way to exporting using AI, led by Rana Mohsen, managing director of Marklinica agency.

The feedback we received was clear;
SMEs in Egypt are looking for deeper, more practical AI applications that directly support their business growth.

That’s where the next step came in.
