In order to promote entrepreneurship and support the local ecosystem, we want to create a Startup Space for all start-up related activities that should become the nucleus of a true entrepreneurship community, characterized by cooperation and mutual trust. In order to jump-start this Startup Space we aim to get as many stakeholders involved as possible in order to cover the different stages of star

ting and establishing a business in the market. Thus entrepreneurs should be able to access advice and contact persons ranging from early stage business support such as business plan creation and product development to specific challenges that entrepreneurs face at various post creation stages e.g. marketing, access to finance, entering new markets and any other need based topic.

Meet the teams joining the second round of incubation in the ETENA programme.

From building platforms that connect travelers directly with local providers, to creating eco-hubs, scaling rural tourism ecosystems, and designing immersive community-based experiences. This cohort brings together diverse ideas shaping the future of sustainable tourism in Egypt.

Kicking off DIRWENA with the first cohort: From Duhok in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with energy, collaboration, and purpose.

Earlier in February, 35 smallholder farmers and microenterprise founders came together with 6 BSO representatives for training, connections, and exchange of experience and insights.

Their goal? Strengthening the resilience of the agriculture sector in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

Watch the video to see highlights from hands-on workshops, a field visit to Lawk Doske-besfke’s farm, and an academic excursion to the College of Agriculture at the University of Duhok.

It was an immersive four-day experience where participants explored new approaches to sustainable practices across the agricultural value chain.

Following the bootcamp, 25 smallholder farmers will be selected to advance to the support phase, alongside the BSO representatives, where they will receive:

✅ Tailored technical guidance
✅ €3,000 in-kind support
✅ On-site mentor visits and field engagement

Last March, 10 tourism founders from Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia came together in Hurghada for the ETENA Accelerator Bootcamp, an experience shaped by learning, exchange, and real connection.

We kicked things off by welcoming the TUI Care Foundation delegation, where participants had the chance to share their ventures, exchange insights, and connect with the group.

The bootcamp content, delivered by MASAR focused on strengthening businesses through sessions on strategy, financials, AI, and operations tailored to the tourism industry, alongside dedicated mentorship sessions that gave participants hands-on guidance for their ventures.

And beyond the sessions, it was about experiencing the destination too, whether through a boat trip on the Red Sea, a night out in downtown Hurghada, or a Semsemeya show that brought everyone together.

Different backgrounds, one shared vision: building stronger, more sustainable tourism businesses.

Supporting the deployment of Venture Debt as a growth financing instrument in Egypt, Scale It Forward is now accepting applications from:

❯❯❯❯ Financial institutions seeking to innovate and de-risk their portfolio
❯❯❯❯ Scaleups that need working capital and runway without equity dilution

The program actively de-risks venture debt deployment by equipping 30 selected scaleups with:
🎯 Targeted investment-readiness support
💸 5,000 Euros in non-repayable funding to close readiness gaps and strengthen cash-flow visibility
