𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆

Mother Earth is clearly urging a call to action. Nature is suffering; oceans are filling with plastic and becoming more acidic, while extreme heat, wildfires, and floods continue to affect millions of people around the world.

Climate change, human-driven changes to nature, and crimes that disrupt biodiversity, such as deforestation, land-use change, intensified agriculture and livestock production, and the growing illegal wildlife trade, are accelerating the destruction of our planet.

𝗗𝗶𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄?

- The planet is losing 10 million hectares of forests every year, an area larger than Iceland.

- A healthy ecosystem helps to protect us from diseases. Biological diversity makes it difficult for pathogens to spread rapidly.

- It is estimated that around one million animal and plant species are now threatened with extinction.

𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗭𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Every year, humanity generates between 2.1 and 2.3 billion tonnes of municipal solid waste. Without urgent action, annual waste generation could reach 3.8 billion tonnes by 2050.

This year’s theme focuses on food waste, a critical yet preventable driver of environmental harm.

Every bottle reused, every material recycled, and every conscious choice made brings us one step closer to a cleaner, more sustainable future.

At DCarbon, we believe that reducing waste is essential to creating real environmental impact and supporting the transition toward a circular economy.

On Saturday, 28 March 2026, from 𝟴:𝟯𝟬 𝘁𝗼 𝟵:𝟯𝟬 𝗣𝗠 (local time), millions of homes, businesses, and landmarks around the world will switch off their lights to show their commitment to the future of our planet.

As Earth Hour marks 20 years since its launch in 2007, it continues to stand as one of the world’s largest grassroots environmental movements, uniting individuals and organizations in collective climate action.

At DCarbon, we believe that sustainability is not a one-hour event but a long-term responsibility. Earth Hour inspires us to continue driving meaningful change, supporting organizations in turning climate ambition into real results.
