زيارة إلى موقع مشروع محطة الطاقة الخضراء والهيدروجين في الطور

في إطار التعاون الاستراتيجي بين شركة رينيرجي جروب بارتنرز وشركة CGGC لتنفيذ مشروع إنتاج الطاقة الخضراء والهيدروجين بمدينة الطور بمحافظة جنوب سيناء، قام فريق مشترك من الشركتين بزيارة ميدانية لموقع المشروع يوم الأربعاء الموافق 22 أكتوبر، لتفقد الموقع ميدانياً ومراجعة المتطلبات الفنية وجاهزيته للتنفيذ، وقد تضمنت الزيارة:
• مراجعة حدود الأراضي ومواقع المكونات الرئيسية للمشروع بما في ذلك مناطق البناء والبنية التحتية المقترحة.
• تقييم الوضع الحالي للموقع من حيث ظروف التربة والتضاريس ومصادر الطاقة والمياه المتاحة والطرق المؤدية إلى الموقع.
• مناقشة البدائل الفنية الأولية لتخطيط الموقع وآليات ربط الشبكة/الخدمة، لضمان الكفاءة التشغيلية المثلى وتكلفة الاستثمار.
• تحديد الاحتياجات اللوجستية ومتطلبات السلامة خلال مرحلتي البناء والتشغيل مع التأكيد على الالتزام بالمعايير البيئية والتنظيمية المعمول بها في المحافظة.

خلال الزيارة تم الاتفاق على الخطوات التالية:
• إعداد تقرير فني مشترك حول نتائج التفتيش الميداني، بما في ذلك التوصيات الأولية لتصميم الموقع.
•البدء في استكمال الدراسات التفصيلية (الفنية والبيئية والاقتصادية) تمهيدا للانتقال إلى مرحلة التصميم النهائي.
• إعداد خطة عمل وخطة زمنية أولية لتنسيق الأدوار بين الشركتين وتسريع إجراءات التنفيذ بالتعاون مع الجهات المعنية.

وتأتي هذه الزيارة في إطار سلسلة من اللقاءات والمبادرات المشتركة التي تهدف إلى دفع المشروع وتحقيق أهدافه، والتي تشمل دعم التحول إلى الطاقة النظيفة وتعزيز إنتاج الهيدروجين الأخضر في مصر، بما يتماشى مع رؤية الدولة للتنمية المستدامة في جنوب سيناء.

Visit to the project site of the Green Power and Hydrogen Plant at El-Tor.

Within the strategic cooperation between Renergy Group Partners and CGGC to implement the Green Energy and Hydrogen production project in El-Tor City, South Sinai Governorate, a joint team from both companies conducted a field visit to the project site on Wednesday, 22 October, to inspect the site on the ground and review the technical requirements and readiness for implementation, and the visit has included:
• Reviewing the land boundaries and the locations of the project’s main components, including the proposed construction and infrastructure areas.
• Assessing the current status of the site in terms of soil conditions, topography, available power and water supply sources, and access roads to the site.
• Discussing initial technical alternatives for site layout and grid/service connection mechanisms, to ensure optimal operational efficiency and investment cost.
• Identifying logistical needs and safety requirements during the construction and operation phases, while emphasizing compliance with applicable environmental and regulatory standards in the governorate.
During the visit, the following steps were agreed:
• Preparing a joint technical report on the field inspection outcomes, including preliminary recommendations for site design.
• Proceeding with the completion of detailed studies (technical, environmental, and economic) in preparation for moving to the final design stage.
• Developing a work plan and preliminary timeline to coordinate roles between both companies and accelerate implementation procedures in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
This visit is part of a series of joint meetings and initiatives aimed at advancing the project and achieving its objectives, which include supporting the clean energy transition and enhancing green hydrogen production in Egypt, in line with the state’s vision for sustainable development in South Sinai.

وزير الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة يبحث مع تحالف "رينيرجي جروب بارتنرز" مشروع الطاقة الخضراء والهيدروجين في مدينة الطور بمحافظة جنوب سيناء.

فى إطار توجه الدولة، واستراتيجية عمل وزارة الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة بتعظيم العوائد من الموارد الطبيعية، والاستفادة من التكنولوجيا الحديثة لتقديم الحلول المبتكرة، والارتقاء بمنظومة الطاقة، والاعتماد على الطاقات الجديدة والمتجددة في مزيج الطاقة والتحول الطاقى، اجتمع الدكتور محمود عصمت وزير الكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة، بوفد تحالف رينيرجي جروب بارتنرز (تحالف وزارة الإنتاج الحربي مع شركة جرين تك إيجيبت وشركة أوك القابضة) برئاسة السيد/ روبرت فالك مؤسس شركة رينيرجي جروب، والدكتور مصطفى مدكور رئيس مجموعة مدكور ، والوفد المرافق، وبحضور الدكتور أحمد مهينة رئيس قطاع التخطيط الاستراتيجي وتقييم الأداء بالوزارة، والمهندس عادل الحريرى العضو المتفرع للدراسات والتصميمات بالشركة المصرية لنقل الكهرباء، بمقر الوزارة بالعاصمة الإدارية، وذلك لبحث العمل المشترك والتعاون فى مشروع الطاقة الخضراء والهيدرووجين في مدينة الطور بمحافظة جنوب سيناء.

استعرض الدكتور محمود عصمت، فكرة المشروع ومدى توافقها مع استراتيجية قطاع الكهرباء بزيادة الاعتماد على الطاقات المتجددة فى مزيج الطاقة، وما يتطلبه ذلك من دعم الشبكة القومية بمصادر تغذية نظيفة، دائمة ومستقرة مثل محطات تخزين الطاقة، ومشروعات الضخ والتخزين المائي، لتأمين الشبكة الموحدة للكهرباء، وضمان الاستدامة والاستقرار للتغذية الكهربائية، واستمع الدكتور محمود عصمت، الى عرض توضيحي حول المشروع، تضمن التكنولوجيا المستخدمة والدراسات الفنية، ودراسة الجدوى، والربط على الشبكة من خلال محطة الضخ والتخزين بقدرات مستقرة ومستدامة على مدار اليوم، وتناول الاجتماع مناقشة مشروع الطاقة الشمسية بقدرة 15 جيجاوات، ومشروع الضخ والتخزين المائي لإنتاج 3.1 جيجاوات ساعة مما يضمن مد الشبكة القومية بالكهرباء على مدار الساعة ، بالاضافة الى مشروع تغذية المحلل الكهربائي بسعة 1850 ميجاوات لإنتاج الهيدروجين الأخضر.

قال الدكتور محمود عصمت، أن خطة العمل تقوم على عدة محاور فى ضوء استراتيجية الدولة للتحول الطاقى وتوفير الطاقة الكهربائية لكافة الاستخدامات فى إطار خطة التنمية المستدامة، مضيفا أن أحد أهم هذة المحاور هو التوسع فى مشروعات الطاقة المتجددة والاعتماد عليها، والحد من استخدام الوقود الأحفوري، والإسراع فى هذا الأمر ، موضحا أن هناك العديد من المشروعات التى يجرى العمل عليها لإضافة مايقرب من 2500 ميجاوات من الطاقات المتجددة إلى الشبكة كمتوسط سنوى حتى عام 2030، مشيرا الى التوجه نحو التوسع فى محطات تخزين الطاقة وإدخال محطات الضخ والتخزين المائي، ورفع كفاءة المحطات المائية لتوليد الكهرباء وزيادة قدراتها، لضمان أمن واستقرار الشبكة واستمرارية التيار الكهربائي، وكذلك حسن إدارة واستثمار تلك الطاقات وتعظيم عوائدها لتعزيز استدامة الطاقة وتوفير حلول طاقة نظيفة وآمنة، موجها بأن تكون الطاقة الكهربائية الناتجة عن محطة الضخ والتخزين فى هذا المشروع العملاق هى أساس التعامل مع الشبكة القومية للكهرباء، مشيدا بجهود شركاء العمل والنجاح من القطاع الخاص المحلي والأجنبي فى إطار، استراتيجيتنا الوطنية للطاقة، واستغلال الطبيعة الجغرافية وتعظيم العوائد منها، سيما فى مجال الضخ وتخزين المياه لتوليد الطاقة الكهربائية.

Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Discusses Green Energy and Hydrogen Project in El-Tor, South Sinai with the “Renergy Group Partners” Consortium.

As part of the State’s direction and within the framework of the Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy’s strategy to maximize returns from natural resources, benefit from modern technology to provide innovative solutions, enhance the energy system, and rely on new and renewable energy sources in the energy mix and energy transition, Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, met with a delegation from the Renergy Group Partners Consortium (a Consortium between the Ministry of Military Production, Green Tech Egypt, and Oak Holdings), headed by Mr. Robert Valk, Founder of Renergy Group, and Dr. Mostafa Madkour, Chairman of Madkour Group, along with the accompanying delegation. The meeting was also attended by Dr. Ahmed Mahina, Head of the Strategic Planning and Performance Evaluation Sector at the Ministry, and Eng. Adel El-Hariri, Board Member for Studies and Designs at the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital, to discuss joint work and cooperation in the Green Energy and Hydrogen Project in El-Tor City, South Sinai Governorate.

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat reviewed the project concept and its alignment with the electricity sector’s strategy to increase reliance on renewable energy sources in the energy mix. He emphasized the importance of supporting the national grid with clean, reliable, and stable energy sources, such as energy storage plants and pumped-storage hydropower projects, to secure the unified electricity network and ensure the sustainability and stability of power supply. Dr. Esmat listened to a detailed presentation on the project, which included the technology used, technical studies, feasibility studies, and the grid connection plan through a pumped-storage station with stable and sustainable capacities operating continuously throughout the day. The meeting also discussed the 15-gigawatt solar power project and the pumped-storage project with a storage and generation capacity of 3.1 gigawatt-hours, ensuring a continuous power supply to the national grid, in addition to an electrolyzer feeding project with a capacity of 1,850 megawatts for green hydrogen production.

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat stated that the Ministry’s action plan is based on several key pillars under the State’s energy transition strategy and the provision of electrical energy for all uses within the framework of the Sustainable Development Plan. He added that one of the most important pillars is the expansion of renewable energy projects and reliance on them while reducing the use of fossil fuels and accelerating this process. He clarified that there are numerous projects currently underway to add approximately 2,500 megawatts of renewable energy annually to the national grid by 2030. Dr. Esmat pointed out that there is a strategic direction toward expanding energy storage stations, introducing pumped-storage hydropower plants, and improving the efficiency and capacity of existing hydroelectric power stations to ensure the security and stability of the grid and the continuity of electricity supply. He also stressed the importance of proper management and investment of these energy resources to maximize returns, enhance energy sustainability, and provide clean and secure energy solutions. The Minister directed that the electricity generated from the pumped-storage plant in this major project should form the main basis of interaction with the national electricity grid. He praised the efforts of local and international private sector partners for their contributions within the framework of Egypt’s National Energy Strategy, emphasizing the importance of leveraging geographical advantages and maximizing their returns, particularly in the field of water pumping and storage for electricity generation.

شركة رينيرجي جروب بارتنرز تعقد الجلسة التشاورية والمجتمعية النهائية لمشروع الطاقة والهيدروجين العملاق بمدينة الطور – محافظة جنوب سيناء.

قامت شركة جروب بارتنرز بعقد جلسة التشاور المجتمعية النهائي لمشروع الطاقة والهيدروجين الأخضر بمدينة شرم الشيخ بمحافظة جنوب سيناء بحضور السيد محافظ جنوب سيناء، الدكتور خالد مبارك والذي قدم الكلمة الافتتاحية، حيث أكد سيادته علي أهمية هذا المشروع باعتباره نقلة نوعية في مجال الطاقة النظيفة، ودوره في خلق فرص عمل جديدة لأبناء المحافظة، ودعم التنمية المستدامة بالمنطقة.

كما قام كلا من: السيد روبرت فالك رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة رينيرجي جروب بارتنرز ، والسيد المستشار / محمد أبو النجا مستشار وزير الدولة للإنتاج الحربي بإلقاء كلمة عن أهمية المشروع لجمهورية مصر العربية من خلال تأمين مستقبل الطاقة القومي والمساهمة في جعل مصر في مقدمة الخريطة العالمية لمشاريع الطاقة والهيدروجين الأخضر، علاوة علي ما يقدمه المشروع من توفير فرص عمل هائلة للشباب في مراحل الإنشاء والنشغيل.

شارك في الجلسة عدد من القيادات التنفيذية وممثلي الوزارات والهيئات الحكومية المعنية وعلي رأسها وزارة الإنتاج الحربي وجهاز شئون البيئة، ووزارة الري والموارد المائية، وهيئة الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة، والشركة المصرية لنقل الكهرباء، وهيئة موانئ البحر الأحمر، والهيئة العامة للتنمية الصناعية، إلى جانب حضور واسع من مشايخ وعواقل القبائل البدوية وممثلي منظمات المجتمع المدني، في تأكيد على النهج التشاركي الذي تتبعه الشركة في جميع مراحل المشروع. كما أكد سيادته علي أن هذا المشروع العملاق يعد نقلة نوعية لمستقبل الطاقة في مصر ومصدر فخر لأبناء سيناء

وشهدت الجلسة مشاركة قيادات من وزارات الإنتاج الحربي، والكهرباء والطاقة المتجددة، والبيئة، وجهاز شؤون البيئة، وخبراء من جامعة الملك سلمان الدولية، إضافة إلى ممثلي المجتمع المحلي والإعلاميين ومشايخ وعواقل جنوب سيناء، وسط حضور مكثف من القيادات التنفيذية بالمحافظة.

وأكد المحافظ في كلمته أن مشروع إنتاج الطاقة والهيدروجين يمثل نقلة تاريخية لمصر عامةً وجنوب سيناء خاصةً، حيث يعد أول مشروع متكامل للطاقة النظيفة يعتمد على أحدث تكنولوجيات إنتاج الطاقة الخضراء من الرياح والطاقة الشمسية، ويستهدف وضع مصر ضمن الدول الرائدة عالميًا في هذا المجال.

وأوضح اللواء خالد مبارك أن المشروع سيكون له انعكاسات مباشرة على الحياة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية بالمحافظة، من بينها:
• توفير آلاف فرص العمل المباشرة وغير المباشرة للشباب وأبناء القبائل البدوية.
• إطلاق برامج تدريب وتأهيل بالتعاون مع جامعة الملك سلمان الدولية لإعداد كوادر فنية وإدارية متخصصة.
• تنمية مجتمعية شاملة من خلال إنشاء منطقة سكنية جديدة تضم أكثر من 4000 وحدة، منها 2000 وحدة لخدمة المشروع و500 وحدة مخصصة لأهالي البدو، بما يعزز الاستقرار الاجتماعي.
• تنشيط الاستثمار الزراعي والسياحي بالمناطق المحيطة، عبر توفير مصادر مياه محلاة ومشروعات دعم للبنية التحتية.

كما استعرض الخبراء والمختصين من شركة رينيرجي وشركة إيكوكونسرف للدراسات والحلول البيئية وشركة سيف سور لدراسة الطيور المهاجرة بعرض الدراسات المختلفة خلال الجلسة الدراسة البيئية والاجتماعية للمشروع، والتي تضمنت:
• رصد حركة الطيور المهاجرة ووضع التدابير اللازمة لتجنب تأثر مساراتها.
• تقييم أثر المشروع على النظم البيئية وتقديم خطة متكاملة للتخفيف من أي آثار سلبية.
• اعتماد معايير الاستدامة العالمية لحماية الموارد الطبيعية وتحقيق التوازن البيئي.

وخلال مراسم التكريم، أشاد المحافظ بجهود جميع الأطراف المشاركة في إنجاز الدراسات البيئية والفنية والاجتماعية للمشروع، مؤكداً أن المشروع يمثل نقلة تاريخية لمستقبل الطاقة في مصر ومصدر فخر لأبناء سيناء، نظراً لاعتماده على أحدث تقنيات الطاقة الخضراء من خلال مزيج يجمع بين الطاقة الشمسية وتخزين الضخ والطاقة الكهرومائية، ويُعد خطوة مهمة لوضع مصر على الخريطة العالمية كإحدى الدول الرائدة في إنتاج طاقة أساسية خضراء على مدار الساعة (24/7) للشبكة القومية، مقترنة بإنتاج الهيدروجين الأخضر.

Renergy Group Partners holds the final public consultation for the Mega Scale Green Power and Hydrogen Project in the South Sinai Governorate near to El-Tor.

Renergy Group Partners held the final community consultation session for the Green Energy and Hydrogen Project in Sharm El-Sheikh, South Sinai Governorate, with the attendance of H.E. the Governor of South Sinai, Dr. Khaled Mubarak, who did the opening speech. In his address, he emphasized the importance of this project as a qualitative leap in the field of clean energy, its role in creating new job opportunities for the people of the governorate, and in supporting sustainable development in the region.
Both Mr. Robert Valk, Chairman of Renergy Group Partners, and Counselor Mohamed Abou El-Naga, Advisor to the Minister of State for Military Production, gave speeches highlighting the project's importance for the Arab Republic of Egypt. The project will secure the future of the Egyptian energy and contribute to placing Egypt at the top of the world map of green energy and hydrogen projects. They also stressed the vast job opportunities this massive energy project will create for youth during the construction and operation phases.
The session was attended by a number of executive leaders and representatives of the concerned ministries and government authorities, led by the Ministry of Military Production, the Environmental Affairs Agency, the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, the New and Renewable Energy Authority, the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company, Red Sea Port Authorities, and the Industrial Development Authority. The event also witnessed wide participation from tribal sheikhs and elders of the Bedouin tribes, as well as representatives of civil society organizations, confirming the participatory approach adopted by the company in all stages of the project. His Excellency further affirmed that the Mega Scale El-Tor Project is a qualitative leap for Egypt’s energy future and a source of pride for the people of Sinai.
The session also included the participation of leaders from the Ministries of Military Production, Electricity and Renewable Energy, and Environment, the Environmental Affairs Agency, experts from King Salman International University, in addition to representatives of the local community, media professionals, and tribal sheikhs and elders of South Sinai, with a large presence of executive leaders from the governorate.
In his speech, the Governor stressed that the Green Power and Hydrogen Project represents a historic leap for Egypt in general and South Sinai in particular, as it is the first integrated clean energy project relying on the latest technologies for generating green energy from wind and solar power, with the aim of positioning Egypt among the leading countries worldwide in this field.
Major General Khaled Mubarak clarified that the project will have direct impacts on the economic and social life of the governorate, including:
• Providing thousands of direct and indirect job opportunities for youth and members of the Bedouin tribes.
• Launching training and qualification programs in cooperation with King Salman International University to prepare specialized technical and administrative cadres.
• Comprehensive community development through the establishment of a new residential area comprising more than 4,000 housing units, including 2,000 units dedicated to serving the project and 500 units allocated to Bedouin residents, thereby enhancing social stability.
• Revitalizing agricultural and tourism investment in the surrounding areas by providing desalinated water sources and infrastructure support projects.
Experts and specialists from the Renergy company, Ecoconserv for Environmental and Social Solutions, and Safe Soar for Migratory Birds Studies presented the various studies during the session, including the environmental and social impact assessment of the project, which covered:
• Monitoring migratory bird movements and implementing necessary measures to avoid impacts on their flight paths.
• Assessing the project’s impact on ecosystems and providing an integrated mitigation plan for any negative effects.
• Adopting global sustainability standards to protect natural resources and achieve environmental balance.
In this context, Renergy Group Partners affirms its commitment to continuing close cooperation with all government entities and the local community, and to applying the highest environmental and social standards, ensuring the achievement of sustainable development in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030. The final public consultation is a big milestone for the project to move to the next stage of the project development. After two years of hard work, finalizing the feasibility study and all the required EEAA studies, we expect to receive the final approvals for the project within 3 months. محافظ جنوب سيناء يتابع مستجدات مشروع إنتاج الطاقة والهيدروجين الأخضر العملاق بمدينة الطور بمحافظة جنوب سيناء.

في إطار توجيهات فخامة السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي، وتنفيذًا لرؤية مصر 2030 واستراتيجية الدولة للتحول نحو الطاقة المتجددة، عقد اللواء دكتور خالد مبارك، محافظ جنوب سيناء، اليوم اجتماعًا بمكتبه بمدينة شرم الشيخ مع ممثلي شركة رينيرجي جروب بارتنرز (الشركة المنفذة لمشروع إنتاج الطاقة والهيدروجين الأخضر) ، المزمع إقامته بمدينة طور سيناء العاصمة واستشاري المحافظة والمعنيين.

وناقش المحافظ خلال الاجتماع آخر المستجدات المتعلقة بالمشروع الذي يُعد من أكبر مشروعات الطاقة النظيفة في مصر، ويستهدف توفير نحو 10 آلاف فرصة عمل مباشرة وغير مباشرة، إلى جانب دوره في دعم الاقتصاد الأخضر وتقليل الانبعاثات الكربونية، بما يعزز مكانة جنوب سيناء كمركز استراتيجي للطاقة المتجددة.

The Governor of South Sinai follows up on the latest developments of the Mega Scale Green and Green Hydrogen and Power project in El-Tor City, South Sinai Governorate.

In line with the directives of H.E. President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and in implementation of Egypt’s Vision 2030 and the State’s strategy for transition towards renewable energy, Major General Dr. Khaled Mubarak, Governor of South Sinai, held a meeting today at his office in Sharm El-Sheikh with representatives of Renergy Group Partners (the company implementing the Green Energy and Hydrogen Production Project), which is planned to be established in El-Tor, the capital city of South Sinai, along with the Governorate’s consultant and the concerned stakeholders.

During the meeting, the Governor discussed the latest updates related to the project, which is considered one of the largest clean energy projects in Egypt. The project aims to provide around 10,000 direct and indirect job opportunities, in addition to its role in supporting the green economy and reducing carbon emissions, thereby enhancing South Sinai’s position as a strategic hub for renewable energy.

The Governor also explained that the project will not be limited to clean energy production, but will also contribute to the establishment of an integrated agricultural community, including the provision of water required for irrigation, as well as the construction of modern Bedouin houses, a hospital, and a school, in a manner that achieves sustainable development and raises the level of services provided to citizens.

In this context, Major General Khaled Mubarak affirmed the continuation of community dialogue regarding the project, ensuring the engagement of citizens, local communities, and relevant entities in discussing the project details, listening to their views and suggestions, thus enhancing transparency and achieving the best outcomes for the local community.

The Governor emphasized the Governorate’s keenness to provide all necessary facilities and support to ensure the speedy implementation of the project and maximize its benefits for the people of South Sinai.

منحت رينيرجي جروب، التحالف الذي يقود أول مشروع لتحويل المخلفات إلى طاقة في مصر، رسميًا أمر إسناد المشروع لمجموعة تشاينا إنرجي .

يُعدّ هذا المشروع الرائد في أبو رواش، بالجيزة، أول محطة عاملة لتحويل المخلفات إلى طاقة في مصر. تُمثّل المحطة إنجازًا هامًا في تحوّل مصر نحو الطاقة المستدامة وإدارة المخلفات، بطاقة إنتاجية تبلغ 30 ميجاوات، وقدرتها على معالجة 1200 طن من المخلفات يوميًا.

بصفتها مالكة المشروع، تجمع رينيرجي جروب شراكة قوية بين الهيئة القومية للإنتاج الحربي، وشركة جرين تك ايجيبت، وشركة أوك القابضة البحرينية. وبصفتها مطور المشروع ومالكه، ستشرف رينيرجي جروب على تنفيذه وفقًا لنموذج التصميم والبناء والتملك والتشغيل، باستثمارات تُقدّر بـ 130 مليون دولار أمريكي.

ستعمل المحطة لمدة 25 عامًا، وبعدها ستنتقل ملكيتها إلى محافظة الجيزة. والجدير بالذكر أن حوالي 40% من العقود ستُمنح لشركات مصرية، مما يضمن مشاركة محلية قوية إلى جانب الخبرات الدولية.

يُمثل هذا المشروع الرائد عهدًا جديدًا لقطاع الطاقة الخضراء في مصر، ويضع شركة رينرجي جروب كمحرك رئيسي للبنية التحتية المستدامة وحلول المخلفات المبتكرة في المنطقة.

The landmark project in Abu Rawash, Giza, will be Egypt’s first operational WTE plant. The plant represents a significant milestone in Egypt’s transition towards sustainable energy and waste management with an installed capacity of 30 megawatts (MW) and the ability to treat 1,200 tonnes of waste per day.

As the project owner, Renergy Group brings together a powerful partnership of the National Organisation for Military Production (NOMP), Green Tech Egypt, and Bahrain-based OAK Holdings. As the project developer and owner, Renergy Group will oversee the plant’s implementation under a design-build-own-operate model with an estimated investment of $130 million.

The plant will operate for 25 years, after which ownership will be transferred to the Giza Governorate. Notably, around 40% of the contracts will be awarded to Egyptian companies, ensuring strong local participation alongside the international expertise.

This pioneering project marks a new era for Egypt’s green energy sector, positioning Renergy Group as a key driver of sustainable infrastructure and innovative waste solutions in the region.

In a significant move highlighting the strong cooperation between Renergy Group Partners and the South Sinai Governorate, the company signed a lease agreement for its first administrative office and staff accommodation in El-Tor City. This step is part of the ongoing preparations to activate the mega Green Hydrogen Project, which is considered a strategic national priority for the Arab Republic of Egypt.

The signing ceremony was held in a spirit of mutual understanding and coordination, with representatives from Renergy Group and the South Sinai Governorate present. This reflects the commitment of both parties to providing a supportive environment for the project’s launch and on-the-ground implementation.

In this context, the company inspected the new premises to assess their current condition and began upgrading and preparing them to suit the anticipated administrative and operational functions. The aim is to transform the site into a logistical and administrative hub to support the project’s activities.

On another front, and in line with its dedication to strengthening community partnerships, Renergy Group visited the Al-Mezaina tribe, one of the largest and most prominent Bedouin tribes in South Sinai Governorate. The visit included discussions on opportunities for collaboration and ways to support the project through effective community engagement, ensuring sustainable development for the local population and aligning the project with its social and environmental context.
